The XA 18implementation is known to work with the Tuxedo(tm) transaction 19manager.
20
The XA support is encapsulated in the resource manager switch 21db_xa_switch, which defines the following functions:
22

__db_xa_close Close the resource manager. 23__db_xa_commit Commit the specified transaction. 24__db_xa_complete Wait for asynchronous operations to 25 complete. 26__db_xa_end Disassociate the application from a 27 transaction. 28__db_xa_forget Forget about a transaction that was heuristically 29 completed. (Berkeley DB does not support heuristic 30 completion.) 31__db_xa_open Open the resource manager. 32__db_xa_prepare Prepare the specified transaction. 33__db_xa_recover Return a list of prepared, but not yet 34 committed transactions. 35__db_xa_rollback Abort the specified transaction. 36__db_xa_start Associate the application with a 37 transaction. 38

39
The Berkeley DB resource manager does not support the following optional 40XA features:
41

42
Asynchronous operations 43
Transaction migration 44
45
The Tuxedo System is available from BEA Systems, Inc.
46
For additional information on Tuxedo, see
47
Building Client/Server Applications Using Tuxedo, 48by Hall (John Wiley & Sons, Inc.).
49
For additional information on XA Resource Managers, see
50
X/Open CAE Specification 51Distributed Transaction Processing: The XA Specification, 52X/Open Document Number: XO/CAE/91/300.
53
For additional information on The Tuxedo System, see
54
The Tuxedo System, 55by Andrade, Carges, Dwyer and Felts (Addison Wesley Longman).
56

57

58
Copyright (c) 1996,2008 Oracle.
