2	utility that has the ability to test dso samba VFS modules. It gives the
3	user the ability to call the various VFS functions manually and
4	supports cascaded VFS modules.
5	</p></div><div class="refsect1" lang="en"><a name="id259564"></a><h2>OPTIONS</h2><div class="variablelist"><dl><dt><span class="term">-c|--command=command</span></dt><dd><p>Execute the specified (colon-separated) commands.
6		See below for the commands that are available.
7		</p></dd><dt><span class="term">-h|--help</span></dt><dd><p>Print a summary of command line options.
8</p></dd><dt><span class="term">-l|--logfile=logbasename</span></dt><dd><p>File name for log/debug files. The extension
9		<code class="constant">'.client'</code> will be appended. The log file is never removed
10		by the client.
11		</p></dd><dt><span class="term">-V</span></dt><dd><p>Prints the program version number.
12</p></dd><dt><span class="term">-s &lt;configuration file&gt;</span></dt><dd><p>The file specified contains the 
13configuration details required by the server.  The 
14information in this file includes server-specific
15information such as what printcap file to use, as well 
16as descriptions of all the services that the server is 
17to provide. See <code class="filename">smb.conf</code> for more information.
18The default configuration file name is determined at 
19compile time.</p></dd><dt><span class="term">-d|--debuglevel=level</span></dt><dd><p><em class="replaceable"><code>level</code></em> is an integer 
20from 0 to 10.  The default value if this parameter is 
21not specified is zero.</p><p>The higher this value, the more detail will be 
22logged to the log files about the activities of the 
23server. At level 0, only critical errors and serious 
24warnings will be logged. Level 1 is a reasonable level for
25day-to-day running - it generates a small amount of 
26information about operations carried out.</p><p>Levels above 1 will generate considerable 
27amounts of log data, and should only be used when 
28investigating a problem. Levels above 3 are designed for 
29use only by developers and generate HUGE amounts of log
30data, most of which is extremely cryptic.</p><p>Note that specifying this parameter here will 
31override the <a class="indexterm" name="id259419"></a> parameter
32in the <code class="filename">smb.conf</code> file.</p></dd><dt><span class="term">-l|--logfile=logdirectory</span></dt><dd><p>Base directory name for log/debug files. The extension
33<code class="constant">".progname"</code> will be appended (e.g. log.smbclient, 
34log.smbd, etc...). The log file is never removed by the client.
