49      <p>RFC1179 describes a set of fields that MAY appear in the
50      control file. It is silent if other ones can appear as well.
51      Unfortunately, some implementations will reject jobs unless
52      they contain ONLY fields from a very small set. In addition,
53      RFC1179 is silent about the ORDER the fields can appear.</p>

55      <p><b class="APPLICATION">LPRng</b> quite happily will accept
56      jobs from poor or nonconforming RFC1179 spooler programs, and
57      fix them up to be conformant.</p>

59      <p>If you are sending jobs to one of a non-conforming
60      spooler, you can force <b class="APPLICATION">LPRng</b> to
61      send jobs with only the fields described in RFC1179 by
62      setting the the <var class="LITERAL">:bk:</var> (BacKwards
63      compatible) flag in the printcap for your printer.</p>
