Rename CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE to CONFIG_TEXT_BASE

The current name is inconsistent with SPL which uses CONFIG_SPL_TEXT_BASE
and this makes it imposible to use CONFIG_VAL().

Rename it to resolve this problem.

Convert CONFIG_SYS_BOOTM_LEN to Kconfig

This converts the following to Kconfig:
CONFIG_SYS_BOOTM_LEN

As part of this, rework error handling in boot/bootm.c so that we pass
the buffer size to handle_decomp_error as CONFIG_SYS_BOOTM_LEN will not
be available to host tools but we do know the size that we passed to
malloc().

Migrate CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to Kconfig using system-constants.h

- Make all users of CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR reference SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR
- Introduce HAS_CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to allow for setting the stack
pointer directly, otherwise we use the common calculation.
- On some platforms that were using the standard calculation but did not
set CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_SIZE / CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_ADDR, set them.
- On a small number of platforms that were not subtracting
GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE do so now via the standard calculation.
- CONFIG_SYS_INIT_SP_OFFSET is now widely unused, so remove it from most
board config header files.

ARC: rework setting of ARC CPU specific compiler options

It's a very rare if at all existing occasion when ARC CPU template
is used as is w/o any changes - in the end it's a beauty and competitive
advantage of ARC cores to be tailored for a particular use-case - and
so it doesn't make a lot of sense to offer template-based "-mcpu" selection.
Given for each and every platform we end-up adding quite a few more flags
it's logical to move "-mcpu" selection to platform's definition as well
which we exactly do here.

We don't have yet any brc700 or big-enadian platforms with networking
support to run this particular configuration.

Whenever QEMU for ARC supports arc700 or big-endian targets we may revisit
this one.

ARC: nSIM: switch from ARC UART to DW UART

Since v2019.06 DesingWare nSIM supports DesignWare UART simulation
and so we may switch from pretty unusual ARC UART to much more standard
DesignWare UART (which in case of U-Boot is just an ordinary 16650 UART).

This among other things makes built dinaries compatible with our other
platforms to name a few: FPGA-based HAPS boards, QEMU and even ZeBU.

determine if we need to relocate the env_addr within gd or not. In
order to facilitate migration of other symbols to Kconfig we need to
introduce a new symbol for this particular use case.

actually compile unless other options are defined in the board header:

Convert CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC/NAND/UBI and NOWHERE to Kconfig

This converts the following to Kconfig:
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI
CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE

In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not
all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It
would lead to more than one option being set.

In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be
stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a
normal config allowing each option to be set independently.

There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of
this patch. This was tested with

./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC

And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they
can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic
now.

arc: Rename ARCangel4 board to nSIM

ARCangel was one of the main development boards back in the day but
now it's gone and replaced by other boards like ARC SDP.

But we also used to have simulation platform very similar to ARCangel4
in terms of CPU settings as well as basic IO like UART. Even though
ARCangel4 is long gone now we have a replacement for simulation which is
a plain or stand-alone nSIM and Free nSIM.

And while at it:
* Finally switch hex numerical values in nsim.h to defines from

Having this as a 'default y' is rather annoying because it doesn't
actually compile unless other options are defined in the board header:

Convert CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC/NAND/UBI and NOWHERE to Kconfig

This converts the following to Kconfig:
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI
CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE

In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not
all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It
would lead to more than one option being set.

In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be
stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a
normal config allowing each option to be set independently.

There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of
this patch. This was tested with

./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC

And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they
can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic
now.

arc: Rename ARCangel4 board to nSIM

ARCangel was one of the main development boards back in the day but
now it's gone and replaced by other boards like ARC SDP.

But we also used to have simulation platform very similar to ARCangel4
in terms of CPU settings as well as basic IO like UART. Even though
ARCangel4 is long gone now we have a replacement for simulation which is
a plain or stand-alone nSIM and Free nSIM.

And while at it:
* Finally switch hex numerical values in nsim.h to defines from

Rename CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE to CONFIG_TEXT_BASE

The current name is inconsistent with SPL which uses CONFIG_SPL_TEXT_BASE
and this makes it imposible to use CONFIG_VAL().

Rename it to resolve this problem.

As part of this, rework error handling in boot/bootm.c so that we pass
the buffer size to handle_decomp_error as CONFIG_SYS_BOOTM_LEN will not
be available to host tools but we do know the size that we passed to
malloc().

Migrate CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to Kconfig using system-constants.h

- Make all users of CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR reference SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR
- Introduce HAS_CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to allow for setting the stack
pointer directly, otherwise we use the common calculation.
- On some platforms that were using the standard calculation but did not
set CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_SIZE / CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_ADDR, set them.
- On a small number of platforms that were not subtracting
GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE do so now via the standard calculation.
- CONFIG_SYS_INIT_SP_OFFSET is now widely unused, so remove it from most
board config header files.

ARC: rework setting of ARC CPU specific compiler options

It's a very rare if at all existing occasion when ARC CPU template
is used as is w/o any changes - in the end it's a beauty and competitive
advantage of ARC cores to be tailored for a particular use-case - and
so it doesn't make a lot of sense to offer template-based "-mcpu" selection.
Given for each and every platform we end-up adding quite a few more flags
it's logical to move "-mcpu" selection to platform's definition as well
which we exactly do here.

ARC: nsim_{700|700be|hs38be}_defconfigs: Disable networking

We don't have yet any brc700 or big-enadian platforms with networking
support to run this particular configuration.

Whenever QEMU for ARC supports arc700 or big-endian targets we may revisit
this one.

ARC: nSIM: switch from ARC UART to DW UART

Since v2019.06 DesingWare nSIM supports DesignWare UART simulation
and so we may switch from pretty unusual ARC UART to much more standard
DesignWare UART (which in case of U-Boot is just an ordinary 16650 UART).

This among other things makes built dinaries compatible with our other
platforms to name a few: FPGA-based HAPS boards, QEMU and even ZeBU.

ARC: rework setting of ARC CPU specific compiler options

It's a very rare if at all existing occasion when ARC CPU template
is used as is w/o any changes - in the end it's a beauty and competitive
advantage of ARC cores to be tailored for a particular use-case - and
so it doesn't make a lot of sense to offer template-based "-mcpu" selection.
Given for each and every platform we end-up adding quite a few more flags
it's logical to move "-mcpu" selection to platform's definition as well
which we exactly do here.

We don't have yet any brc700 or big-enadian platforms with networking
support to run this particular configuration.

Whenever QEMU for ARC supports arc700 or big-endian targets we may revisit
this one.

ARC: nSIM: switch from ARC UART to DW UART

Since v2019.06 DesingWare nSIM supports DesignWare UART simulation
and so we may switch from pretty unusual ARC UART to much more standard
DesignWare UART (which in case of U-Boot is just an ordinary 16650 UART).

This among other things makes built dinaries compatible with our other
platforms to name a few: FPGA-based HAPS boards, QEMU and even ZeBU.

Today in initr_reloc_global_data() we use some non-obvious tests to
determine if we need to relocate the env_addr within gd or not. In
order to facilitate migration of other symbols to Kconfig we need to
introduce a new symbol for this particular use case.

Having this as a 'default y' is rather annoying because it doesn't
actually compile unless other options are defined in the board header:

Convert CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC/NAND/UBI and NOWHERE to Kconfig

This converts the following to Kconfig:
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI
CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE

In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not
all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It
would lead to more than one option being set.

In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be
stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a
normal config allowing each option to be set independently.

There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of
this patch. This was tested with

./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC

And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they
can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic
now.

arc: Rename ARCangel4 board to nSIM

ARCangel was one of the main development boards back in the day but
now it's gone and replaced by other boards like ARC SDP.

But we also used to have simulation platform very similar to ARCangel4
in terms of CPU settings as well as basic IO like UART. Even though
ARCangel4 is long gone now we have a replacement for simulation which is
a plain or stand-alone nSIM and Free nSIM.

As part of this, rework error handling in boot/bootm.c so that we pass
the buffer size to handle_decomp_error as CONFIG_SYS_BOOTM_LEN will not

Migrate CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to Kconfig using system-constants.h

- Make all users of CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR reference SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR
- Introduce HAS_CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to allow for setting the stack
pointer directly, otherwise we use the common calculation.
- On some platforms that were using the standard calculation but did not
set CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_SIZE / CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_ADDR, set them.
- On a small number of platforms that were not subtracting
GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE do so now via the standard calculation.
- CONFIG_SYS_INIT_SP_OFFSET is now widely unused, so remove it from most
board config header files.

ARC: rework setting of ARC CPU specific compiler options

It's a very rare if at all existing occasion when ARC CPU template
is used as is w/o any changes - in the end it's a beauty and competitive
advantage of ARC cores to be tailored for a particular use-case - and
so it doesn't make a lot of sense to offer template-based "-mcpu" selection.
Given for each and every platform we end-up adding quite a few more flags
it's logical to move "-mcpu" selection to platform's definition as well
which we exactly do here.

We don't have yet any brc700 or big-enadian platforms with networking
support to run this particular configuration.

Whenever QEMU for ARC supports arc700 or big-endian targets we may revisit
this one.

ARC: nSIM: switch from ARC UART to DW UART

Since v2019.06 DesingWare nSIM supports DesignWare UART simulation
and so we may switch from pretty unusual ARC UART to much more standard
DesignWare UART (which in case of U-Boot is just an ordinary 16650 UART).

This among other things makes built dinaries compatible with our other
platforms to name a few: FPGA-based HAPS boards, QEMU and even ZeBU.

Having this as a 'default y' is rather annoying because it doesn't
actually compile unless other options are defined in the board header:

Convert CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC/NAND/UBI and NOWHERE to Kconfig

This converts the following to Kconfig:
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI
CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE

In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not
all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It
would lead to more than one option being set.

In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be
stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a
normal config allowing each option to be set independently.

There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of
this patch. This was tested with

./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC

And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they
can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic
now.

arc: Rename ARCangel4 board to nSIM

ARCangel was one of the main development boards back in the day but
now it's gone and replaced by other boards like ARC SDP.

But we also used to have simulation platform very similar to ARCangel4
in terms of CPU settings as well as basic IO like UART. Even though
ARCangel4 is long gone now we have a replacement for simulation which is
a plain or stand-alone nSIM and Free nSIM.

Convert CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC/NAND/UBI and NOWHERE to Kconfig

This converts the following to Kconfig:
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI
CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE

In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not
all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It
would lead to more than one option being set.

In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be
stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a
normal config allowing each option to be set independently.

There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of
this patch. This was tested with

./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC

And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they
can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic
now.

arc: Rename ARCangel4 board to nSIM

ARCangel was one of the main development boards back in the day but
now it's gone and replaced by other boards like ARC SDP.

But we also used to have simulation platform very similar to ARCangel4
in terms of CPU settings as well as basic IO like UART. Even though
ARCangel4 is long gone now we have a replacement for simulation which is
a plain or stand-alone nSIM and Free nSIM.

Note Free nSIM is available for download here:

And while at it:
* Finally switch hex numerical values in nsim.h to defines from
include/linux/sizes.h
* Add defconfigs with ARC HS38 cores

ARC: rework setting of ARC CPU specific compiler options

It's a very rare if at all existing occasion when ARC CPU template
is used as is w/o any changes - in the end it's a beauty and competitive
advantage of ARC cores to be tailored for a particular use-case - and
so it doesn't make a lot of sense to offer template-based "-mcpu" selection.
Given for each and every platform we end-up adding quite a few more flags
it's logical to move "-mcpu" selection to platform's definition as well
which we exactly do here.

We don't have yet any brc700 or big-enadian platforms with networking
support to run this particular configuration.

Whenever QEMU for ARC supports arc700 or big-endian targets we may revisit
this one.

ARC: nSIM: switch from ARC UART to DW UART

Since v2019.06 DesingWare nSIM supports DesignWare UART simulation
and so we may switch from pretty unusual ARC UART to much more standard
DesignWare UART (which in case of U-Boot is just an ordinary 16650 UART).

This among other things makes built dinaries compatible with our other
platforms to name a few: FPGA-based HAPS boards, QEMU and even ZeBU.

determine if we need to relocate the env_addr within gd or not. In
order to facilitate migration of other symbols to Kconfig we need to
introduce a new symbol for this particular use case.

Having this as a 'default y' is rather annoying because it doesn't
actually compile unless other options are defined in the board header:

../cmd/bootm.c:330:7: error: 'CONFIG_SYS_MAX_FLASH_BANKS' undeclared (first use in this function); did you mean 'CONFIG_SYS_MAX_FLASH_SECT'?

Make it 'default n' so people who develop new boards that start from a
blank defconfig have one less compilation failure to debug.

cmd: Toggle the default value of CONFIG_CMD_IMLS

Having this as a 'default y' is rather annoying because it doesn't
actually compile unless other options are defined in the board header:

Convert CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC/NAND/UBI and NOWHERE to Kconfig

This converts the following to Kconfig:
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND
CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI
CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE

In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not
all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It
would lead to more than one option being set.

In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be
stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a
normal config allowing each option to be set independently.

There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of
this patch. This was tested with

./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC

And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they
can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic
now.

arc: Rename ARCangel4 board to nSIM

ARCangel was one of the main development boards back in the day but
now it's gone and replaced by other boards like ARC SDP.

But we also used to have simulation platform very similar to ARCangel4
in terms of CPU settings as well as basic IO like UART. Even though
ARCangel4 is long gone now we have a replacement for simulation which is
a plain or stand-alone nSIM and Free nSIM.

And while at it:
* Finally switch hex numerical values in nsim.h to defines from
include/linux/sizes.h
* Add defconfigs with ARC HS38 cores

ARC: rework setting of ARC CPU specific compiler options

It's a very rare if at all existing occasion when ARC CPU template
is used as is w/o any changes - in the end it's a beauty and competitive
advantage of ARC cores to be tailored for a particular use-case - and
so it doesn't make a lot of sense to offer template-based "-mcpu" selection.
Given for each and every platform we end-up adding quite a few more flags
it's logical to move "-mcpu" selection to platform's definition as well
which we exactly do here.

ARC: nsim_{700|700be|hs38be}_defconfigs: Disable networking

We don't have yet any brc700 or big-enadian platforms with networking
support to run this particular configuration.

Whenever QEMU for ARC supports arc700 or big-endian targets we may revisit
this one.
