Drop wide char support to save space

1. Remove all the special handling of variables (-d -p -P -s -S) that

3. Add -V varspec which passes variables on the command line (as DBG

The motivation of this is to make variable handling consistent, less magical,

TOOL_FOO= ${TOOLDIR}/bin/${_TOOL_PREFIX}foo

Document all of these in bsd.README.

This cleans up a chunk of potential (and actual) namespace collision
within our build infrastructure, as well as improves consistency in
the share/mk documentation and provision of appropriate defaults for
each of these variables.

Add support for UFS2. UFS2 is an enhanced FFS, adding support for
64 bit block pointers, extended attribute storage, and a few
other things.

This commit does not yet include the code to manipulate the extended
storage (for e.g. ACLs), this will be done later.

consistently use "${INSTALLBOOT} -v ..."

don't use ${OBJDIR}, using just 'install.sub' in IMAGEDEPENDS should work fine
add install.sub to CLEANFILES

yet another distrib overhaul:
- move guts of distrib/Makefile.inc to distrib/common/Makefile.distrib
(fixes problem caused by implicit include of ../Makefile.inc in certain
submake conditions triggered by makefiles not yet in tree)
- removed mkdir of ${RELEASEDIR}/*; rely upon "snap_pre" target of
etc/Makefile to create all the release directories
- renamed RELINSTALL to RELEASE_INSTALL
- renamed FLOPPYINSTDIR to FLOPPY_RELEASEDIR
- renamed MDSETDIR to MDSET_RELEASEDIR
- removed ITARGET
- move release target from top level to appropriate subdirectory
- ensure release target has correct depends
- replace miniroot's IMAGE_MD_POST with common/Makefile.image IMAGEPOSTBUILD
- Makefile.image: add realall: ${IMAGE}

replace _SRC_TOP_ with NETBSDSRCDIR, since the latter is the "public" version

Migrate to a distrib framework closer to how other ports work.
Arguably this could be moved to using the distrib/miniroot
infrastructure instead.

XXX: This could benefit from being crunchgen-ed with libhack;
currently it just uses a lot of stuff out of ${DESTDIR}

- call ${INSTALLBOOT} with -m ${MACHINE}
- use check_RELEASEDIR

Converted sun2 to the new distrib world order. It is now
possible to do full release unprivileged cross-builds.

- replace image_md_post: target with IMAGE_MD_POST variable, and use
that after building ${IMAGE}
- use ${IMAGEBUILT} to ensure that IMAGE_MD_POST is only run if IMAGE changes

replace local ${REV} with ${DISTRIBREV} from distrib/Makefile.inc

Sync with the sun3 distrib code, and fixed many problems
to the point where this is truly useful for building
sun2 releases.

Add MTREE?= to add Makefiles and use when running mtree

Added sun2 distrib files.

+= for MAKEFS_FLAGS

mark fstab .PHONY to prevent it being re-made from fstab.c in suffix rules.

Explicitly build space constrained ramdisk images without unwind tables.

Remove terminfo.db as it's now embedded in libterminfo.

Use the rescue terminfo.db in our images instead of termcap.

Replace references to local and now no-longer-existing termcap files
with references to ${DISTRIBDIR}/common/termcap.

Nothing needs disktab anymore, so we'd rather have an inode and
slightly over 1K of space on install media...

Move sun2, sun3 & x68k across to the common distrib etc/services, and
while here reduce it from 1180 to 794 bytes (whitespace & comment cleanup)

Use the cutdown distrib/common/services and distrib/common/protocols
rather than the full fat etc versions

Use ${TOOL_SED} instead if plain sed in Makefiles.

Fix (currently harmless) typo.

I'm not sure why autobuild (amd64) gets ICE with -Os while it works on i386..
