KVM: selftests: Avoid infinite loop in hyperv_features when invtsc is missing When X86_FEATURE_INVTSC is missing, guest_test_msrs_access() was supposed to skip testing dependent Hyper-V invariant TSC feature. Unfortunately, 'continue' does not lead to that as stage is not incremented. Moreover, 'vm' allocated with vm_create_with_one_vcpu() is not freed and the test runs out of available file descriptors very quickly. KVM: selftests: Provide error code as a KVM_ASM_SAFE() output Provide the error code on a fault in KVM_ASM_SAFE(), e.g. to allow tests to assert that #PF generates the correct error code without needing to manually install a #PF handler. Use r10 as the scratch register for the error code, as it's already clobbered by the asm blob (loaded with the RIP of the to-be-executed instruction). Deliberately load the output "error_code" even in the non-faulting path so that error_code is always initialized with deterministic data (the aforementioned RIP), i.e to ensure a selftest won't end up with uninitialized consumption regardless of how KVM_ASM_SAFE() is used. Don't clear r10 in the non-faulting case and instead load error code with the RIP (see above). The error code is valid if and only if an exception occurs, and '0' isn't necessarily a better "invalid" value, e.g. '0' could result in false passes for a buggy test. KVM: selftests: Check result in hyperv_features for successful hypercalls Commit cc5851c6be86 ("KVM: selftests: Use exception fixup for #UD/#GP Hyper-V MSR/hcall tests") introduced a wrong guest assert in guest_hcall(). It is not checking the successful hypercall results and only checks the result when a fault happens. GUEST_ASSERT_2(!hcall->ud_expected || res == hcall->expect, hcall->expect, res); Correct the assertion by only checking results of the successful hypercalls. This issue was observed when this test started failing after building it in Clang. Above guest assert statement fails because "res" is not equal to "hcall->expect" when "hcall->ud_expected" is true. "res" gets some garbage value in Clang from the RAX register. In GCC, RAX is 0 because it using RAX for @output_address in the asm statement and resetting it to 0 before using it as output operand in the same asm statement. Clang is not using RAX for @output_address. KVM: selftests: Cache CPUID in struct kvm_vcpu Cache a vCPU's CPUID information in "struct kvm_vcpu" to allow fixing the mess where tests, often unknowingly, modify the global/static "cpuid" allocated by kvm_get_supported_cpuid(). Add vcpu_init_cpuid() to handle stuffing an entirely different CPUID model, e.g. during vCPU creation or when switching to the Hyper-V enabled CPUID model. Automatically refresh the cache on vcpu_set_cpuid() so that any adjustments made by KVM are always reflected in the cache. Drop vcpu_get_cpuid() entirely to force tests to use the cache, and to allow adding e.g. vcpu_get_cpuid_entry() in the future without creating a conflicting set of APIs where vcpu_get_cpuid() does KVM_GET_CPUID2, but vcpu_get_cpuid_entry() does not. Opportunistically convert the VMX nested state test and KVM PV test to manipulating the vCPU's CPUID (because it's easy), but use vcpu_init_cpuid() for the Hyper-V features test and "emulator error" test to effectively retain their current behavior as they're less trivial to convert. KVM: selftests: Mostly fix broken Hyper-V Features test Explicitly do all setup at every stage of the Hyper-V Features test, e.g. set the MSR/hypercall, enable capabilities, etc... Now that the VM is recreated for every stage, values that are written into the VM's address space, i.e. shared with the guest, are reset between sub-tests, as are any capabilities, etc... Fix the hypercall params as well, which were broken in the same rework. The "hcall" struct/pointer needs to point at the hcall_params object, not the set of hypercall pages. The goofs were hidden by the test's dubious behavior of using '0' to signal "done", i.e. the MSR test ran exactly one sub-test, and the hypercall test was a gigantic nop. KVM: selftests: Use "standard" min virtual address for Hyper-V pages Use the de facto standard minimum virtual address for Hyper-V's hcall params page. It's the allocator's job to not double-allocate memory, i.e. there's no reason to force different regions for the params vs. hcall page. This will allow adding a page allocation helper with a "standard" minimum address.
