ASoC: qcom: Move Soundwire runtime stream alloc to soundcards Currently the Qualcomm Soundwire controller in its DAI startup op allocates the Soundwire stream runtime. This works fine for existing designs, but has limitations for stream runtimes with multiple controllers, like upcoming Qualcomm X1E80100 SoC with four WSA8840 speakers on two Soundwire controllers. When two Soundwire controllers are added to sound card codecs, Soundwire startup() is called twice, one for each Soundwire controller, and second execution overwrites what was set before. During shutdown() this causes double free. It is expected to have only one Soundwire stream runtime, thus it should be allocated from SoC soundcard context startup(), not from each Soundwire startup(). Such way will properly handle both cases: one and two Soundwire controllers in the stream runtime. ASoC: Explicitly include correct DT includes The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it was merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. ASoC: qcom: Fix building APQ8016 machine driver without SOUNDWIRE Older Qualcomm platforms like APQ8016 do not have hardware support for SoundWire, so kernel configurations made specifically for those platforms will usually not have CONFIG_SOUNDWIRE enabled. Unfortunately commit 8d89cf6ff229 ("ASoC: qcom: cleanup and fix dependency of QCOM_COMMON") breaks those kernel configurations, because SOUNDWIRE is now a required dependency for SND_SOC_QCOM_COMMON (and in turn also SND_SOC_APQ8016_SBC). Trying to migrate such a kernel config silently disables SND_SOC_APQ8016_SBC and breaks audio functionality. The soundwire helpers in common.c are only used by two of the Qualcomm audio machine drivers, so building and requiring CONFIG_SOUNDWIRE for all platforms is unnecessary. There is no need to stuff all common code into a single module. Fix the issue by moving the soundwire helpers to a separate SND_SOC_QCOM_SDW module/option that is selected only by the machine drivers that make use of them. This also allows reverting the imply/depends changes from the previous fix because both SM8250 and SC8280XP already depend on SOUNDWIRE, so the soundwire helpers will be only built if SOUNDWIRE is really enabled. ASoC/SoundWire: dai: expand 'stream' concept beyond SoundWire The HDAudio ASoC support relies on the set_tdm_slots() helper to store the HDaudio stream tag in the tx_mask. This only works because of the pre-existing order in soc-pcm.c, where the hw_params() is handled for codec_dais *before* cpu_dais. When the order is reversed, the stream_tag is used as a mask in the codec fixup functions: /* fixup params based on TDM slot masks */ if (substream->stream == SNDRV_PCM_STREAM_PLAYBACK && codec_dai->tx_mask) soc_pcm_codec_params_fixup(&codec_params, codec_dai->tx_mask); As a result of this confusion, the codec_params_fixup() ends-up generating bad channel masks, depending on what stream_tag was allocated. We could add a flag to state that the tx_mask is really not a mask, but it would be quite ugly to persist in overloading concepts. Instead, this patch suggests a more generic get/set 'stream' API based on the existing model for SoundWire. We can expand the concept to store 'stream' opaque information that is specific to different DAI types. In the case of HDAudio DAIs, we only need to store a stream tag as an unsigned char pointer. The TDM rx_ and tx_masks should really only be used to store masks. Rename get_sdw_stream/set_sdw_stream callbacks and helpers as get_stream/set_stream. No functionality change beyond the rename.
