ASoC: Intel: avs: Probe compress operations

Add compress operations handlers for data extraction through probes. A
single HDAudio stream is enlisted for said purpose. Operations follow
same protocol as for standard PCM streaming on HOST side.

ASoC: Intel: catpt: Drop SND_SOC_ACPI_INTEL_MATCH dependency

catpt-driver does not make use of most of the fields found in the
descriptor table and is the sole user of haswell machines list. Move the
tables to local directory and clean them up so it's clear what's
actually used by the solution.

ASoC: Intel: avs: Add HDAudio machine board

Connect AVS driver with ASoC HDAudio codec with help of this machine
board. Similarly to its platform and codec components, DAI links and
routes are being created dynamically so single board can be used across
all HDAudio codec types.

Card makes use of "binder" BE DAI Link so HDAudio codec driver can be
listed as one of its components. This allows for BE DAIs to be created
dynamically, based on HDAudio codec capabilities.

ASoC: Intel: avs: Coredump and recovery flow

In rare occasions, under stress conditions or hardware malfunction, DSP
firmware may fail. Software is notified about such situation with
EXCEPTION_CAUGHT notification. IPC timeout is also counted as critical
device failure. More often than not, driver can recover from such
situations by performing full reset: killing and restarting ADSP.

In order to enable NHLT support one must select SND_INTEL_DSP_CONFIG,

ASoC: Intel: avs: Code loading over HDA

Compared to SKL and KBL, more recent cAVS platforms are meant to re-use
one of HDAudio streams during boot procedure causing CLDMA to become
obsolete. Once transferred, given stream is returned to pool available
for audio streaming.

Module loading handler is stub as library and module code became
inseparable in later firmware generations.

ASoC: Intel: KMB: Enable DMA transfer mode

Enable DMA transfer mode for Intel Keem Bay ASoC platform driver.

The driver will search the device tree for DMA resources at boot
time to enable DMA transfer mode, and will proceed to use DMA
transfer if the resource is available, otherwise the default PIO
mode will be used.

ASoC: Intel: atom: Remove duplicate kconfigs

SND_SST_IPC and its _PCI and _ACPI variants all target
sound/soc/intel/atom solution alone. SND_SST_IPC is the core component,
required for PCI and ACPI based atom platforms both. _PCI and _ACPI
target Merrifield/Edison and Baytrial/Cherrytrail platforms
respectively.

On top of that, there is an equivalent set of configs targeting the same
solution:
- SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM (core)
- SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM_PCI
- SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM_ACPI

As both sets do the same job - allow for granular platform selection -
remove the duplicate set and rely on SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATOFRM_XXX
configs alone.

sst-firmware is host to many image loading over DMA operations. Majority
of code targets sound/soc/intel/haswell solution as /baytrail/ never
switched to DMA-based firmware loading. With /haswell/ removed this code

ASoC: Intel: Remove baytrail solution

sound/soc/intel/baytrail is a niche solution which supports limited
number of BYT products - as described by
snd_soc_acpi_intel_baytrail_legacy_machines table. For a long time it's
deprecated in favor of sound/soc/intel/atom solution with SOF providing
support for some products too effectively rendering /baytrail/ redundant.
Remove deprecated code from ASoC tree.

Prevent sound/soc/intel/haswell code compile and select catpt instead as
a recommended solution. Userspace-exposed members are compatible with
what is exposed by deprecated solution thus no harm is done. The only
visible difference is the newly added 'Loopback Mute' kcontrol.

This option famously broke audio on Linus' laptop and the problem have
not been fixed.

Mark as DEPRECATED to avoid any ambiguity with distros.

ALSA: hda: add Intel DSP configuration / probe code

For distributions, we need one place where we can decide
which driver will be activated for the auto-configation of the
Intel's HDA hardware with DSP. Actually, we cover three drivers:

* Legacy HDA
* Intel SST
* Intel Sound Open Firmware (SOF)

All those drivers registers similar PCI IDs, so the first
driver probed from the PCI stack can win. But... it is not
guaranteed that the correct driver wins.

This commit changes Intel's NHLT ACPI module to a common
DSP probe module for the Intel's hardware. All above sound
drivers calls this code. The user can force another behaviour
using the module parameter 'dsp_driver' located in
the 'snd-intel-dspcfg' module.

This change allows to add specific dmi checks for the specific
systems. The examples are taken from the pull request:

ASoC: SOF/Intel: fix selection of SND_INTEL_NHTL

We should only select SND_INTEL_NHLT when ACPI is defined. This was
done for the legacy HDAudio driver but not for DSP-enabled cases,
leading to compilation errors with randconfig.

Fix by aligning on the same solution.

For the Skylake driver this is overkill since there is a top-level
dependency on ACPI, but it doesn't hurt and it's better to have
consistency.

ASoC: Intel: atom: Make PCI dependency explicit

After 'commit 5d32a66541c4 ("PCI/ACPI: Allow ACPI to be built without
CONFIG_PCI set")' dependencies on CONFIG_PCI that previously were
satisfied implicitly through dependencies on CONFIG_ACPI have to be
specified directly. This code relies on IOSF_MBI and IOSF_MBI depends
on PCI. For this reason, add a direct dependency on CONFIG_PCI to the
IOSF_MBI driver.

ALSA: hda - Revert DSP detection on legacy HD-audio driver

This essentially reverts the commits
c337104b1a16 ("ALSA: HD-Audio: SKL+: abort probe if DSP is present
and Skylake driver selected")
and
d82b51c855a2 ("ALSA: HD-Audio: SKL+: force HDaudio legacy or SKL+
driver selection")
for the path of legacy HD-audio controller (snd-hda-intel).

The automatic DSP detection and skip of binding with the legacy driver
caused regressions on several machines like Dell XPS13. They give the
PCI class 0x40380 indicating the availability of DSP while they don't
work with ASoC SKL driver (yet).

As the support of ASoC driver for such devices isn't available, it's
better to revert the whole DSP-detection-and-skip behavior of the
legacy driver, so that we can get the old good driver working on such
devices.

The pci_binding option for ASoC SKL driver is still kept so that it
can work without blacklisting.

ALSA: HD-Audio: SKL+: abort probe if DSP is present and Skylake driver selected

Now that the SST/Skylake driver supports per platform selectors, we
can add logic to automatically select the right driver.

If the Skylake driver is selected for a specific platform, and the DSP
is detected at run-time based on the PCI class/subclass/prog-if
information, the legacy HDaudio driver aborts the probe. This will
result in a single driver probing and remove the need for modprobe
blacklists.

Follow-up patches will add a module parameter to bypass the logic if
this automatic detection fails, or if the Skylake driver is unable to
actually support the platform (firmware authentication, missing
topology file, hardware issue, etc).

The same mechanism will be used to conflicts generated by the same PCI
ID being registered by both legacy HDAuudio and SOF drivers for Intel
platforms. In other words SOF will not require changes to the HDaudio
legacy.

ASoC: Intel: Skylake: Add more platform granularity

The current SKYLAKE kconfig is a all-you-can-eat selection that will
support all known plaforms. This is however not necessarily a good
thing: most platforms for SKL and KBL don't support the DSP, but a
number of CNL/WHL ones do. Selecting this driver in all cases isn't
really smart and will require users to muck with blacklists.

Partition the configs to allow distributions to select on which
platform this driver is used. Keep the existing SND_SOC_INTEL_SKYLAKE
config to select everything for backwards compatibility. This patch does
not provide new functionality, only finer-grained choices in supported
platforms.

ASoC: Intel: Skylake: fix Kconfigs, make HDaudio codec optional

The Skylake driver currently has a set of problems supporting
load/unload modules. We need to make the HDaudio codec support
optional to help narrow down the issues.

Support for HDaudio codecs also leads to a Kconfig issue. We want the
hdac_hda codec to be compilable independently of Skylake (e.g. with
ALL_CODECS) but when Skylake is selected as built-in the hdac_hda
codec needs to use the same option due a a code dependency

Solve both problems by adding a user-selectable boolean Kconfig,
select HDAC_HDA as needed and make the HDaudio codec support in the
Skylake driver optional. Tests on a Chell Chromebook device without
HDaudio show no regression for speaker and HDMI playback.

This is submitted as an RFC to allow for comments and more validation.

ASoC: Intel: Disable SND_SOC_INTEL_BAYTRAIL when SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM is enabled

The sound/soc/intel/common/sst-acpi.c code only tries to load the
"baytrail-pcm-audio" driver (and supporting board drivers) when
SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM is not enabled, since otherwise these
are handled by snd-soc-sst-atom-hifi2-platform.ko.

Since these thus will never be used when SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM is
enabled, building these drivers when it is enabled is useless.

Add a Kconfig dependency to reflect this, so that SND_SOC_INTEL_BAYTRAIL
cannot be enabled when SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM is also enabled.

which select a common SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM option. To avoid
breaking existing solutions with the semantics change,
SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM_ACPI uses "default ACPI" so that "make
oldnoconfig" and "make olddefconfig" still work as expected.

Also remove mentions of Medfield while we are at it since it was
removed recently.

ASoC: Intel: Skylake: Add ssp clock driver

For certain platforms, it is required to start the clocks (mclk/sclk/fs)
before the stream start. Example: for few chrome systems, codec needs the
mclk/sclk to be enabled early for a successful clock synchronization and
for few IVI platforms, clock need to be enabled at boot and should be ON
always.

Add the required structures and create set_dma_control ipc to enable or
disable the clock. To enable sclk without fs, mclk ipc structure is used,
else sclkfs ipc structure is used.

Clock prepare/unprepare are used to enable/disable the clock as the IPC
will be sent in non-atomic context. The clk set_dma_control IPC
structures are populated during the set_rate callback and IPC is sent
to enable the clock during prepare callback.

This patch creates virtual clock driver, which allows the machine driver
to use the clock interface to send IPCs to DSP to enable/disable the
clocks.

ASoC: Intel: Fix nested/unnecessary Kconfig dependencies

This patch fixes a number of issues:
1. IOSF_MBI is only needed for byt-cr detection, which is only supported
on Baytrail/Cherrytrail, move to HiFi2 config

2. SND_SOC_INTEL_SST should not select SND_SOC_INTEL_SST_ACPI, the latter
config is only valid for Haswell/Baytrail legacy but not needed by Skylake

3. SND_SST_IPC_ACPI, used only by the atom/sst driver, should not select
SND_SOC_INTEL_SST, none of the code under common/sst*.c is used

This nesting of configs really makes no sense, it's easier to maintain
if for each platform one can control what is strictly required.

Compiled-tested with each of Haswell, Baytrail legacy, HiFi2, SKL cases
selected independently. 0-day and explicit randconfig tests did not report
additional issues and no functionality loss was observed in Intel tests on
HIFI2 and SKYLAKE platforms

PCI/ACPI selections should not happen in Kconfig for machine drivers,
move to SOC selections.

Add distinction between PCI and ACPI HiFi2 platforms and help text.

There should be no functionality change.

The PCI-based platforms may be removed at some point since Medfield
is not really supported by anyone, and with Edison now defunct support for
Merrifield/Edison is to be determined.

The dependency on SND_DMA_SGBUF for Haswell is not clear at this
point and may have to be further updated.

ASoC: Intel: Fix Kconfig with top-level selector

Follow network example suggested by Linus, move Intel definitions
in if/endif block and clarify in help text which options distro
configurations should enable - everything except legacy Baytrail stuff and
NOCODEC (test only)

To avoid user confusion, machine drivers are handled with a submenu made
dependent on this top-level selector.

There should be no functionality change - except that sound capabilities
are restored when using older configs without any user selection.

Note that the SND_SOC_ACPI_INTEL_MATCH config is currently filtered
out by the top-level selector. This will change in the near future to
allow for this option to be selected by both SST and SOF drivers

ASoC: Intel: fix Kconfig dependencies

I ran into multiple problems during randconfig builds of the
recently changed Kconfig logic for Intel ASoC drivers:

- Building without DMADEVICES doesn't work in general
- With that dependency added, we can relax the 'depends
on X86' again and allow compile-testing, except for
SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM, which depends on X86
for asm/platform_sst_audio.h
- Skylake requires SND_SOC_INTEL_SST_ACPI, so we
have to depend on ACPI in turn
- Haswell needs SND_DMA_SGBUF for snd_sgbuf_aligned_pages()

With the new set of dependencies, I no longer get any build
failures.

ACPI support is not specific to the Intel/SST driver. Move the enumeration
and matching code which is not hardware-dependent to sound/soc and rename
relevant sst_acpi_ structures and functions with snd_soc_acpi_ prefix

soc-acpi.h is protected by a #ifndef __LINUX_SND_SOC_ACPI_H for
consistency with all other SoC .h files:

Rename SND_SST_MFLD_PLATFORM to SND_SST_ATOM_HIFI2_PLATFORM to make it clear
that is not only about Medfield platform.

The new name is derived from Intel Atom and HiFi2. HiFi2 is the DSP version,
it's public information for Intel *Field/*Trail parts, see
https://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Firmware. By combining HiFi2 with
Atom we get a unique non-ambiguous description of the core+DSP hardware for
Intel Medfield through Intel Cherrytrail.

This moves the 'select' statement from two of the three haswell based users
into the line that is used by all of them, so make it harder to get wrong

ASoC: Intel: Atom: fix IOSF_MBI dependency

fix issue reported by 0-Day with randconfig

The commit a68bc0d43e1b
("ASoC: Intel: Atom: auto-detection of Baytrail-CR")
added a dependency on IOSF_MBI. The code used the IS_ENABLED macro
to check for this dependency but this is not enough in case the SST
driver is built-in. This could be fixed with IS_REACHABLE but
Baytrail-CR would not be detected depending on combinations of options

Add dependency in Kconfig to solve this for good

ASoC: intel: Fix sst-dsp dependency on dw stuff

The recent commit [a92ea59b74e2: ASoC: Intel: sst: only select
sst-firmware when DW DMAC is built-in] introduced more strict kconfig
dependency (depends on DW_DMAC_CORE=y) for avoiding the build failures
due to dependency messes in intel-sst. This makes, however, it
impossible to use this driver with the modularized systems,
i.e. typically on Linux distros.

The problem addressed in the commit above is that sst_dsp_new() and
sst_dsp_free() includes the firmware init / finish that call dw_*()
functions. Thus building it as built-in with DW_DMAC_CORE module
results in the missing symbols.

However, these sst_dsp functions are basically called only from the
drivers that depend on DW_DMAC_CORE already. That is, once when these
functions are split out, the rest can be independent from dw stuff.

This patch attempts to solve the issue by the following:
- Split sst-dsp stuff into two modules: snd-soc-sst-dsp and
snd-soc-sst-firmware.
- Move sst_dsp_new() and sst_dsp_free() to the latter module so that
the former module can be independent from DW_DMAC_CORE.
- Add a new kconfig SND_SOC_INTEL_SST_FIRMWARE to select the latter
module by machine drivers.

One only remaining pitfall is that each machine driver has to select
SND_SOC_INTEL_SST_FIRMWARE carefully depending on DW_DMAC_CORE.
This can't be done cleanly due to the restriction of the current
kbuild.

ASoC: Intel: Bxtn: Add Broxton DSP support

Broxton DSP is mostly similar to Skylake one but with subtle
differences like no Code Load DMA and uses HDA DMA for code
loading, DSP D0 and D3 sequences are different.

These changes are comprehended by adding different DSP power up
and down handlers, and new loader ops and also adding prepare and
trigger which HDA DSP DMA requires

ASoC: Intel: Skylake: Add i915 enabling in skl probe

The SKL also supports HDMI output so in probe we need to enable
the HDMI using common i915 APIs to ensure it gets probed on the
bus

After S3 during the controller resequencing the codec domain need
to be kept ON for successful reconfiguration of Codec. Once
configured it will be turned OFF in codec driver.

ASoC: Intel: Create independent acpi match module

The ACPI match module is common to all three drivers, HSW, SKL
and Atom-DPCM driver. But Atom-DPCM driver does not use common
sst code so we cannot include the common SST module in Atom-DPCM
driver.

So the solution is to have a independent sst-match-acpi module
which helps in matching for all the three drivers. Now all driver
can be inbuilt in a single image

This patch really fixes the regression introduced by the
commit 95f098014815 ("ASoC: Intel: Move apci find machine routines")

The previous commit ef3e199a49c8 ("ASoC: Intel: sst: only use
sst-firmware when DW DMAC is available") does not fix the 0day
building errors thoroughly:

sound/built-in.o: In function 'dw_dma_remove'
sound/built-in.o: In function 'dw_dma_probe'

Here we fallback to select sst-firmware only when DW DMAC
is built-in selected. We may need to refactor sst common
driver and split DW related codes to platform driver, but
ATM, this fallback may be the smallest fix.

Please be noticed that after applying this patch, we may
need select DW DMAC manually in DMA driver menu, before
we can prompt and select HSW/BDW and old BYT machines.

ASoC: Intel: Skylake: Add topology core init and handlers

The SKL driver does not code DSP topology in driver. It uses the
newly added ASoC topology core to parse the topology information
(controls, widgets and map) from topology binary.
Each topology element passed private data which contains
information that driver used to identify the module instance
within firmware and send IPCs for that module to DSP firmware
along with parameters.
This patch adds init routine to invoke topology load and callback
for topology creation.

ASoC: Intel: don't select RT5640 if !I2C

The rt5640 driver won't compile without I2C enabled. Hence, the Intel
Haswell and Baytrail+RT5640 ASoC drivers must also depend on I2C, since
these select RT5640.

This solves:

We have other Intel platforms coming having the Smart Sound Technology (SST)
so rename the mid-x86 directory to intel as originally directory name
reflected only Intel MID platform.
