f2fs: fix information leak in f2fs_move_inline_dirents() When converting an inline directory to a regular one, f2fs is leaking uninitialized memory to disk because it doesn't initialize the entire directory block. Fix this by zero-initializing the block. f2fs: restructure f2fs page.private layout Restruct f2fs page private layout for below reasons: There are some cases that f2fs wants to set a flag in a page to indicate a specified status of page: a) page is in transaction list for atomic write b) page contains dummy data for aligned write c) page is migrating for GC d) page contains inline data for inline inode flush e) page belongs to merkle tree, and is verified for fsverity f) page is dirty and has filesystem/inode reference count for writeback g) page is temporary and has decompress io context reference for compression There are existed places in page structure we can use to store f2fs private status/data: - page.flags: PG_checked, PG_private - page.private However it was a mess when we using them, which may cause potential confliction: page.private PG_private PG_checked page._refcount (+1 at most) a) -1 set +1 b) -2 set c), d), e) set f) 0 set +1 g) pointer set The other problem is page.flags has no free slot, if we can avoid set zero to page.private and set PG_private flag, then we use non-zero value to indicate PG_private status, so that we may have chance to reclaim PG_private slot for other usage. [1] The other concern is f2fs has bad scalability in aspect of indicating more page status. So in this patch, let's restructure f2fs' page.private as below to solve above issues: Layout A: lowest bit should be 1 | bit0 = 1 | bit1 | bit2 | ... | bit MAX | private data .... | bit 0 PAGE_PRIVATE_NOT_POINTER bit 1 PAGE_PRIVATE_ATOMIC_WRITE bit 2 PAGE_PRIVATE_DUMMY_WRITE bit 3 PAGE_PRIVATE_ONGOING_MIGRATION bit 4 PAGE_PRIVATE_INLINE_INODE bit 5 PAGE_PRIVATE_REF_RESOURCE bit 6- f2fs private data Layout B: lowest bit should be 0 page.private is a wrapped pointer. After the change: page.private PG_private PG_checked page._refcount (+1 at most) a) 11 set +1 b) 101 set +1 c) 1001 set +1 d) 10001 set +1 e) set f) 100001 set +1 g) pointer set +1 [1] https://lore.kernel.org/linux-f2fs-devel/20210422154705.GO3596236@casper.infradead.org/T/#u Cc: Matthew Wilcox <willy@infradead.org> Signed-off-by: Chao Yu <yuchao0@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>

f2fs: Handle casefolding with Encryption Expand f2fs's casefolding support to include encrypted directories. To index casefolded+encrypted directories, we use the SipHash of the casefolded name, keyed by a key derived from the directory's fscrypt master key. This ensures that the dirhash doesn't leak information about the plaintext filenames. Encryption keys are unavailable during roll-forward recovery, so we can't compute the dirhash when recovering a new dentry in an encrypted + casefolded directory. To avoid having to force a checkpoint when a new file is fsync'ed, store the dirhash on-disk appended to i_name. This patch incorporates work by Eric Biggers <ebiggers@google.com> and Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>. f2fs: rework filename handling Rework f2fs's handling of filenames to use a new 'struct f2fs_filename'. Similar to 'struct ext4_filename', this stores the usr_fname, disk_name, dirhash, crypto_buf, and casefolded name. Some of these names can be NULL in some cases. 'struct f2fs_filename' differs from 'struct fscrypt_name' mainly in that the casefolded name is included. For user-initiated directory operations like lookup() and create(), initialize the f2fs_filename by translating the corresponding fscrypt_name, then computing the dirhash and casefolded name if needed. This makes the dirhash and casefolded name be cached for each syscall, so we don't have to recompute them repeatedly. (Previously, f2fs computed the dirhash once per directory level, and the casefolded name once per directory block.) This improves performance. This rework also makes it much easier to correctly handle all combinations of normal, encrypted, casefolded, and encrypted+casefolded directories. (The fourth isn't supported yet but is being worked on.) The only other cases where an f2fs_filename gets initialized are for two filesystem-internal operations: (1) when converting an inline directory to a regular one, we grab the needed disk_name and hash from an existing f2fs_dir_entry; and (2) when roll-forward recovering a new dentry, we grab the needed disk_name from f2fs_inode::i_name and compute the hash. f2fs: Support case-insensitive file name lookups Modeled after commit b886ee3e778e ("ext4: Support case-insensitive file name lookups") """ This patch implements the actual support for case-insensitive file name lookups in f2fs, based on the feature bit and the encoding stored in the superblock. A filesystem that has the casefold feature set is able to configure directories with the +F (F2FS_CASEFOLD_FL) attribute, enabling lookups to succeed in that directory in a case-insensitive fashion, i.e: match a directory entry even if the name used by userspace is not a byte per byte match with the disk name, but is an equivalent case-insensitive version of the Unicode string. This operation is called a case-insensitive file name lookup. The feature is configured as an inode attribute applied to directories and inherited by its children. This attribute can only be enabled on empty directories for filesystems that support the encoding feature, thus preventing collision of file names that only differ by case. * dcache handling: For a +F directory, F2Fs only stores the first equivalent name dentry used in the dcache. This is done to prevent unintentional duplication of dentries in the dcache, while also allowing the VFS code to quickly find the right entry in the cache despite which equivalent string was used in a previous lookup, without having to resort to ->lookup(). d_hash() of casefolded directories is implemented as the hash of the casefolded string, such that we always have a well-known bucket for all the equivalencies of the same string. d_compare() uses the utf8_strncasecmp() infrastructure, which handles the comparison of equivalent, same case, names as well. For now, negative lookups are not inserted in the dcache, since they would need to be invalidated anyway, because we can't trust missing file dentries. This is bad for performance but requires some leveraging of the vfs layer to fix. We can live without that for now, and so does everyone else. * on-disk data: Despite using a specific version of the name as the internal representation within the dcache, the name stored and fetched from the disk is a byte-per-byte match with what the user requested, making this implementation 'name-preserving'. i.e. no actual information is lost when writing to storage. DX is supported by modifying the hashes used in +F directories to make them case/encoding-aware. The new disk hashes are calculated as the hash of the full casefolded string, instead of the string directly. This allows us to efficiently search for file names in the htree without requiring the user to provide an exact name. * Dealing with invalid sequences: By default, when a invalid UTF-8 sequence is identified, ext4 will treat it as an opaque byte sequence, ignoring the encoding and reverting to the old behavior for that unique file. This means that case-insensitive file name lookup will not work only for that file. An optional bit can be set in the superblock telling the filesystem code and userspace tools to enforce the encoding. When that optional bit is set, any attempt to create a file name using an invalid UTF-8 sequence will fail and return an error to userspace. * Normalization algorithm: The UTF-8 algorithms used to compare strings in f2fs is implemented in fs/unicode, and is based on a previous version developed by SGI. It implements the Canonical decomposition (NFD) algorithm described by the Unicode specification 12.1, or higher, combined with the elimination of ignorable code points (NFDi) and full case-folding (CF) as documented in fs/unicode/utf8_norm.c. NFD seems to be the best normalization method for F2FS because: - It has a lower cost than NFC/NFKC (which requires decomposing to NFD as an intermediary step) - It doesn't eliminate important semantic meaning like compatibility decompositions. Although: - This implementation is not completely linguistic accurate, because different languages have conflicting rules, which would require the specialization of the filesystem to a given locale, which brings all sorts of problems for removable media and for users who use more than one language. But the problem here is that, after inline dentry conversion, inline dentry layout no longer exists, if we still reserve inline xattr space, after dents updates, there will be a hole in inline xattr space, which can break hierarchy hash directory structure. In order to fix this issue, let's do sanity check with reserved block address of inline inode to avoid above condition. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=200179 [ 1428.846352] BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in update_sit_entry+0x80/0x7f0 [ 1428.846618] Read of size 4 at addr ffff880194483540 by task a.out/2741 [ 1428.846855] CPU: 0 PID: 2741 Comm: a.out Tainted: G W 4.17.0+ #1 [ 1428.846858] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS Ubuntu-1.8.2-1ubuntu1 04/01/2014 [ 1428.846860] Call Trace: [ 1428.846868] dump_stack+0x71/0xab [ 1428.846875] print_address_description+0x6b/0x290 [ 1428.846881] kasan_report+0x28e/0x390 [ 1428.846888] ? update_sit_entry+0x80/0x7f0 [ 1428.846898] update_sit_entry+0x80/0x7f0 [ 1428.846906] f2fs_allocate_data_block+0x6db/0xc70 [ 1428.846914] ? f2fs_get_node_info+0x14f/0x590 [ 1428.846920] do_write_page+0xc8/0x150 [ 1428.846928] f2fs_outplace_write_data+0xfe/0x210 [ 1428.846935] ? f2fs_do_write_node_page+0x170/0x170 [ 1428.846941] ? radix_tree_tag_clear+0xff/0x130 [ 1428.846946] ? __mod_node_page_state+0x22/0xa0 [ 1428.846951] ? inc_zone_page_state+0x54/0x100 [ 1428.846956] ? __test_set_page_writeback+0x336/0x5d0 [ 1428.846964] f2fs_convert_inline_page+0x407/0x6d0 [ 1428.846971] ? f2fs_read_inline_data+0x3b0/0x3b0 [ 1428.846978] ? __get_node_page+0x335/0x6b0 [ 1428.846987] f2fs_convert_inline_inode+0x41b/0x500 [ 1428.846994] ? f2fs_convert_inline_page+0x6d0/0x6d0 [ 1428.847000] ? kasan_unpoison_shadow+0x31/0x40 [ 1428.847005] ? kasan_kmalloc+0xa6/0xd0 [ 1428.847024] f2fs_file_mmap+0x79/0xc0 [ 1428.847029] mmap_region+0x58b/0x880 [ 1428.847037] ? arch_get_unmapped_area+0x370/0x370 [ 1428.847042] do_mmap+0x55b/0x7a0 [ 1428.847048] vm_mmap_pgoff+0x16f/0x1c0 [ 1428.847055] ? vma_is_stack_for_current+0x50/0x50 [ 1428.847062] ? __fsnotify_update_child_dentry_flags.part.1+0x160/0x160 [ 1428.847068] ? do_sys_open+0x206/0x2a0 [ 1428.847073] ? __fget+0xb4/0x100 [ 1428.847079] ksys_mmap_pgoff+0x278/0x360 [ 1428.847085] ? find_mergeable_anon_vma+0x50/0x50 [ 1428.847091] do_syscall_64+0x73/0x160 [ 1428.847098] entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x44/0xa9 [ 1428.847102] RIP: 0033:0x7fb1430766ba [ 1428.847103] Code: 89 f5 41 54 49 89 fc 55 53 74 35 49 63 e8 48 63 da 4d 89 f9 49 89 e8 4d 63 d6 48 89 da 4c 89 ee 4c 89 e7 b8 09 00 00 00 0f 05 <48> 3d 00 f0 ff ff 77 56 5b 5d 41 5c 41 5d 41 5e 41 5f c3 0f 1f 00 [ 1428.847162] RSP: 002b:00007ffc651d9388 EFLAGS: 00000246 ORIG_RAX: 0000000000000009 [ 1428.847167] RAX: ffffffffffffffda RBX: 0000000000000001 RCX: 00007fb1430766ba [ 1428.847170] RDX: 0000000000000001 RSI: 0000000000001000 RDI: 0000000000000000 [ 1428.847173] RBP: 0000000000000003 R08: 0000000000000003 R09: 0000000000000000 [ 1428.847176] R10: 0000000000008002 R11: 0000000000000246 R12: 0000000000000000 [ 1428.847179] R13: 0000000000001000 R14: 0000000000008002 R15: 0000000000000000 [ 1428.847252] Allocated by task 2683: [ 1428.847372] kasan_kmalloc+0xa6/0xd0 [ 1428.847380] kmem_cache_alloc+0xc8/0x1e0 [ 1428.847385] getname_flags+0x73/0x2b0 [ 1428.847390] user_path_at_empty+0x1d/0x40 [ 1428.847395] vfs_statx+0xc1/0x150 [ 1428.847401] __do_sys_newlstat+0x7e/0xd0 [ 1428.847405] do_syscall_64+0x73/0x160 [ 1428.847411] entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x44/0xa9 [ 1428.847466] Freed by task 2683: [ 1428.847566] __kasan_slab_free+0x137/0x190 [ 1428.847571] kmem_cache_free+0x85/0x1e0 [ 1428.847575] filename_lookup+0x191/0x280 [ 1428.847580] vfs_statx+0xc1/0x150 [ 1428.847585] __do_sys_newlstat+0x7e/0xd0 [ 1428.847590] do_syscall_64+0x73/0x160 [ 1428.847596] entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x44/0xa9 [ 1428.847648] The buggy address belongs to the object at ffff880194483300 which belongs to the cache names_cache of size 4096 [ 1428.847946] The buggy address is located 576 bytes inside of 4096-byte region [ffff880194483300, ffff880194484300) [ 1428.848234] The buggy address belongs to the page: [ 1428.848366] page:ffffea0006512000 count:1 mapcount:0 mapping:ffff8801f3586380 index:0x0 compound_mapcount: 0 [ 1428.848606] flags: 0x17fff8000008100(slab|head) [ 1428.848737] raw: 017fff8000008100 dead000000000100 dead000000000200 ffff8801f3586380 [ 1428.848931] raw: 0000000000000000 0000000000070007 00000001ffffffff 0000000000000000 [ 1428.849122] page dumped because: kasan: bad access detected [ 1428.849305] Memory state around the buggy address: [ 1428.849436] ffff880194483400: fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb [ 1428.849620] ffff880194483480: fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb [ 1428.849804] >ffff880194483500: fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb [ 1428.849985] ^ [ 1428.850120] ffff880194483580: fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb [ 1428.850303] ffff880194483600: fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb [ 1428.850498] ================================================================== Reported-by: Wen Xu <wen.xu@gatech.edu> Signed-off-by: Chao Yu <yuchao0@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>

f2fs: clean up symbol namespace As Ted reported: "Hi, I was looking at f2fs's sources recently, and I noticed that there is a very large number of non-static symbols which don't have a f2fs prefix. There's well over a hundred (see attached below). As one example, in fs/f2fs/dir.c there is: unsigned char get_de_type(struct f2fs_dir_entry *de) This function is clearly only useful for f2fs, but it has a generic name. This means that if any other file system tries to have the same symbol name, there will be a symbol conflict and the kernel would not successfully build. It also means that when someone is looking f2fs sources, it's not at all obvious whether a function such as read_data_page(), invalidate_blocks(), is a generic kernel function found in the fs, mm, or block layers, or a f2fs specific function. You might want to fix this at some point. Hopefully Kent's bcachefs isn't similarly using genericly named functions, since that might cause conflicts with f2fs's functions --- but just as this would be a problem that we would rightly insist that Kent fix, this is something that we should have rightly insisted that f2fs should have fixed before it was integrated into the mainline kernel. acquire_orphan_inode add_ino_entry add_orphan_inode allocate_data_block allocate_new_segments alloc_nid alloc_nid_done alloc_nid_failed available_free_memory ...." This patch adds "f2fs_" prefix for all non-static symbols in order to: a) avoid conflict with other kernel generic symbols; b) to indicate the function is f2fs specific one instead of generic one; Reported-by: Theodore Ts'o <tytso@mit.edu> Signed-off-by: Chao Yu <yuchao0@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>

f2fs: refactor read path to allow multiple postprocessing steps Currently f2fs's ->readpage() and ->readpages() assume that either the data undergoes no postprocessing, or decryption only. But with fs-verity, there will be an additional authenticity verification step, and it may be needed either by itself, or combined with decryption. To support this, store a 'struct bio_post_read_ctx' in ->bi_private which contains a work struct, a bitmask of postprocessing steps that are enabled, and an indicator of the current step. The bio completion routine, if there was no I/O error, enqueues the first postprocessing step. When that completes, it continues to the next step. Pages that fail any postprocessing step have PageError set. Once all steps have completed, pages without PageError set are set Uptodate, and all pages are unlocked. Also replace f2fs_encrypted_file() with a new function f2fs_post_read_required() in places like direct I/O and garbage collection that really should be testing whether the file needs special I/O processing, not whether it is encrypted specifically. This may also be useful for other future f2fs features such as compression. f2fs: don't put dentry page in pagecache into highmem Previous dentry page uses highmem, which will cause panic in platforms using highmem (such as arm), since the address space of dentry pages from highmem directly goes into the decryption path via the function fscrypt_fname_disk_to_usr. But sg_init_one assumes the address is not from highmem, and then cause panic since it doesn't call kmap_high but kunmap_high is triggered at the end. f2fs: support configuring fault injection per superblock Previously, we only support global fault injection configuration, so that when we configure type/rate of fault injection through sysfs, mount option, it will influence all f2fs partition which is being used. It is not make sence, since it will be not convenient if developer want to test separated partitions with different fault injection rate/type simultaneously, also it's not possible to enable fault injection in one partition and disable fault injection in other one. >From now on, we move global configuration of fault injection in module into per-superblock, hence injection testing can be more flexible. fs: Replace CURRENT_TIME with current_time() for inode timestamps CURRENT_TIME macro is not appropriate for filesystems as it doesn't use the right granularity for filesystem timestamps. Use current_time() instead. CURRENT_TIME is also not y2038 safe. This is also in preparation for the patch that transitions vfs timestamps to use 64 bit time and hence make them y2038 safe. As part of the effort current_time() will be extended to do range checks. Hence, it is necessary for all file system timestamps to use current_time(). Also, current_time() will be transitioned along with vfs to be y2038 safe. Note that whenever a single call to current_time() is used to change timestamps in different inodes, it is because they share the same time granularity. f2fs: fix to do security initialization of encrypted inode with original filename When creating new inode, security_inode_init_security will be called for initializing security info related to the inode, and filename is passed to security module, it helps security module such as SElinux to know which rule or label could be applied for the inode with specified name. Previously, if new inode is created as an encrypted one, f2fs will transfer encrypted filename to security module which may fail the check of security policy belong to the inode. f2fs: fix i_current_depth during inline dentry conversion With below steps, we will see that dentry page becoming unaccessable later. This is because we forget updating i_current_depth in inode during inline dentry conversion, after that, once we failed at somewhere, it will leave i_current_depth as 0 in non-inline directory. Then, during ->lookup, the current_depth value makes all dentry pages in first level invisible. Fix it. 1) mount f2fs with inline_dentry option 2) mkdir dir 3) touch 180 files named [0-179] in dir 4) touch 180 in dir (fail after inline dir conversion) 5) ll dir ls: cannot access /mnt/f2fs/dir/0: No such file or directory ls: cannot access /mnt/f2fs/dir/1: No such file or directory ls: cannot access /mnt/f2fs/dir/2: No such file or directory ls: cannot access /mnt/f2fs/dir/3: No such file or directory ls: cannot access /mnt/f2fs/dir/4: No such file or directory drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 may 13 21:47 ./ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 may 13 21:46 ../ -????????? ? ? ? ? ? 0 -????????? ? ? ? ? ? 1 -????????? ? ? ? ? ? 10 -????????? ? ? ? ? ? 100 -????????? ? ? ? ? ? 101 -????????? ? ? ? ? ? 102 Signed-off-by: Chao Yu <yuchao0@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>

The reason is: when doing the inline dir conversion, we didn't consider that directory has hierarchical hash structure which can be configured through sysfs interface 'dir_level'. By default, dir_level of directory inode is 0, it means we have one bucket in hash table located in first level, all dirents will be hashed in this bucket, so it has no problem for us to do the duplication simply between inline dentry page and converted normal dentry page. However, if we configured dir_level with the value N (greater than 0), it will expand the bucket number of first level hash table by 2^N - 1, it hashs dirents into different buckets according their hash value, if we still move all dirents to first bucket, it makes incorrent locating for inline dirents, the result is, although we can iterate all dirents through ->readdir, we can't stat some of them in ->lookup which based on hash table searching. This patch fixes this issue by rehashing dirents into correct position when converting inline directory. Signed-off-by: Chao Yu <chao2.yu@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>

mm, fs: get rid of PAGE_CACHE_* and page_cache_{get,release} macros PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} macros were introduced *long* time ago with promise that one day it will be possible to implement page cache with bigger chunks than PAGE_SIZE. This promise never materialized. And unlikely will. We have many places where PAGE_CACHE_SIZE assumed to be equal to PAGE_SIZE. And it's constant source of confusion on whether PAGE_CACHE_* or PAGE_* constant should be used in a particular case, especially on the border between fs and mm. Global switching to PAGE_CACHE_SIZE != PAGE_SIZE would cause to much breakage to be doable. Let's stop pretending that pages in page cache are special. They are not. The changes are pretty straight-forward: - <foo> << (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) -> <foo>; - <foo> >> (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) -> <foo>; - PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} -> PAGE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN}; - page_cache_get() -> get_page(); - page_cache_release() -> put_page(); This patch contains automated changes generated with coccinelle using script below. For some reason, coccinelle doesn't patch header files. I've called spatch for them manually. The only adjustment after coccinelle is revert of changes to PAGE_CAHCE_ALIGN definition: we are going to drop it later. There are few places in the code where coccinelle didn't reach. I'll fix them manually in a separate patch. Comments and documentation also will be addressed with the separate patch. virtual patch @@ expression E; @@ - E << (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) + E @@ expression E; @@ - E >> (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) + E @@ @@ - PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT + PAGE_SHIFT @@ @@ - PAGE_CACHE_SIZE + PAGE_SIZE @@ @@ - PAGE_CACHE_MASK + PAGE_MASK @@ expression E; @@ - PAGE_CACHE_ALIGN(E) + PAGE_ALIGN(E) @@ expression E; @@ - page_cache_get(E) + get_page(E) @@ expression E; @@ - page_cache_release(E) + put_page(E) Signed-off-by: Kirill A. f2fs: fix to release inode page correctly In following call path, we will pass a locked and referenced ipage pointer to get_new_data_page: - init_inode_metadata - make_empty_dir - get_new_data_page There are two exit paths in get_new_data_page when error occurs: 1) grab_cache_page fails, ipage will not be released; 2) f2fs_reserve_block fails, ipage will be released in callee. So, it's not consistent for error handling in get_new_data_page. For f2fs_reserve_block, it's not very easy to change the rule of error handling, since it's already complicated. Here we deside to choose an easy way to fix this issue: If any error occur in get_new_data_page, we will ensure releasing ipage in this function. f2fs: call set_page_dirty to attach i_wb for cgroup The cgroup attaches inode->i_wb via mark_inode_dirty and when set_page_writeback is called, __inc_wb_stat() updates i_wb's stat. So, we need to explicitly call set_page_dirty->__mark_inode_dirty in prior to any writebacking pages. f2fs: add F2FS_INLINE_DOTS to recover missing dot dentries If f2fs was corrupted with missing dot dentries, it needs to recover them after fsck.f2fs detection. The underlying precedure is: 1. The fsck.f2fs remains F2FS_INLINE_DOTS flag in directory inode, if it detects missing dot dentries. 2. When f2fs looks up the corrupted directory, it triggers f2fs_add_link with proper inode numbers and their dot and dotdot names. 3. Once f2fs recovers the directory without errors, it removes F2FS_INLINE_DOTS finally. Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>

f2fs: avoid wrong f2fs_bug_on when truncating inline_data This patch removes wrong f2fs_bug_on in truncate_inline_inode. When there is no space, it can happen a corner case where i_isze is over MAX_INLINE_SIZE while its inode is still inline_data. The scenario is 1. write small data into file #A. 2. fill the whole partition to 100%. 3. truncate 4096 on file #A. 4. write data at 8192 offset. --> f2fs_write_begin -> -ENOSPC = f2fs_convert_inline_page -> f2fs_write_failed -> truncate_blocks -> truncate_inline_inode BUG_ON, since i_size is 4096. f2fs: fix to truncate inline data past EOF Previously if inode is with inline data, we will try to invalid partial inline data in page #0 when we truncate size of inode in truncate_partial_data_page(). And then we set page #0 to dirty, after this we can synchronize inode page with page #0 at ->writepage(). But sometimes we will fail to operate page #0 in truncate_partial_data_page() due to below reason: a) if offset is zero, we will skip setting page #0 to dirty. b) if page #0 is not uptodate, we will fail to update it as it has no mapping data. So with following operations, we will meet recent data which should be truncated. 1.write inline data to file 2.sync first data page to inode page 3.truncate file size to 0 4.truncate file size to max_inline_size 5.echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches 6.read file --> meet original inline data which is remained in inode page. This patch renames truncate_inline_data() to truncate_inline_inode() for code readability, then use truncate_inline_inode() to truncate inline data in inode page in truncate_blocks() and truncate page #0 in truncate_partial_data_page() for fixing. v2: o truncate partially #0 page in truncate_partial_data_page to avoid keeping old data in #0 page. In order to support atomic write, this patch adds two ioctls: o F2FS_IOC_START_ATOMIC_WRITE o F2FS_IOC_COMMIT_ATOMIC_WRITE The database engine should be aware of the following sequence. 1. open -> ioctl(F2FS_IOC_START_ATOMIC_WRITE); 2. writes : all the written data will be treated as atomic pages. 3. commit -> ioctl(F2FS_IOC_COMMIT_ATOMIC_WRITE); : this flushes all the data blocks to the disk, which will be shown all or nothing by f2fs recovery procedure. 4. repeat to #2. The IO pattens should be: ,- START_ATOMIC_WRITE ,- COMMIT_ATOMIC_WRITE CP | D D D D D D | FSYNC | D D D D | FSYNC ... `- COMMIT_ATOMIC_WRITE Signed-off-by: Jaegeuk Kim <jaegeuk@kernel.org>

f2fs: avoid to read inline data except first page Here is a case which could read inline page data not from first page. 1. write inline data 2. lseek to offset 4096 3. read 4096 bytes from offset 4096 (read_inline_data read inline data page to non-first page, And previously VFS has add this page to page cache) 4. ftruncate offset 8192 5. read 4096 bytes from offset 4096 (we meet this updated page with inline data in cache) So we should leave this page with inited data and uptodate flag for this case. f2fs: handle errors correctly during f2fs_reserve_block The get_dnode_of_data nullifies inode and node page when error is occurred. There are two cases that passes inode page into get_dnode_of_data(). 1. make_empty_dir() -> get_new_data_page() -> f2fs_reserve_block(ipage) -> get_dnode_of_data() 2. f2fs_convert_inline_data() -> __f2fs_convert_inline_data() -> f2fs_reserve_block(ipage) -> get_dnode_of_data() This patch adds correct error handling codes when get_dnode_of_data() returns an error. At first, f2fs_reserve_block() calls f2fs_put_dnode() whenever reserve_new_block returns an error. So, the rule of f2fs_reserve_block() is to nullify inode page when there is any error internally. Finally, two callers of f2fs_reserve_block() should call f2fs_put_dnode() appropriately if they got an error since successful f2fs_reserve_block(). f2fs: refactor f2fs_convert_inline_data Change log from v1: o handle NULL pointer of grab_cache_page_write_begin() pointed by Chao Yu. This patch refactors f2fs_convert_inline_data to check a couple of conditions internally for deciding whether it needs to convert inline_data or not. So, the new f2fs_convert_inline_data initially checks: 1) f2fs_has_inline_data(), and 2) the data size to be changed. If the inode has inline_data but the size to fill is less than MAX_INLINE_DATA, then we don't need to convert the inline_data with data allocation.
