media: v4l2-subdev: Rename .init_cfg() operation to .init_state()

The subdev .init_cfg() operation is affected by two issues:

- It has long been extended to initialize a whole v4l2_subdev_state
instead of just a v4l2_subdev_pad_config, but its name has stuck
around.

- Despite operating on a whole subdev state and not being directly
exposed to the subdev users (either in-kernel or through the userspace
API), .init_cfg() is categorized as a subdev pad operation.

This participates in making the subdev API confusing for new developers.
Fix it by renaming the operation to .init_state(), and make it a subdev
internal operation.

Additionally drivers/media/i2c/s5k5baf.c and
drivers/media/platform/samsung/s3c-camif/camif-capture.c have been
manually changed as Coccinelle didn't. Further local variables have been
removed as they became unused as a result of the other changes.

Also Coccinelle introduced indentation by space in files
drivers/media/i2c/st-mipid02.c and
drivers/media/platform/rockchip/rkisp1/rkisp1-isp.c. This has been also
corrected.

media: v4l: async: Set v4l2_device and subdev in async notifier init

Set the v4l2_device already in async notifier init, so struct device
related to it will be available before the notifier is registered. This
requires separating notifier initialisation into two functions, one that
takes v4l2_device as its argument, v4l2_async_nf_init and
v4l2_async_subdev_nf_init, for sub-device notifiers. Registering the
notifier will use a single function, v4l2_async_nf_register.

This is done in order to make struct device available earlier, during
construction of the async connections, for sensible debug prints.

media: v4l: async: Rename v4l2_async_subdev as v4l2_async_connection

Rename v4l2_async_subdev as v4l2_async_connection, in order to
differentiate between the sub-devices and their connections: one
sub-device can have many connections but the V4L2 async framework has so
far allowed just a single one. Connections in this context will later
translate into either MC ancillary or data links.

This patch prepares changing that relation by changing existing users of
v4l2_async_subdev to switch to v4l2_async_connection. Async sub-devices
themselves will not be needed anymore

Additionally, __v4l2_async_nf_add_subdev() has been renamed
__v4l2_async_nf_add_connection().

media: staging: media: imx6-mipi-csi2: Convert to platform remove callback returning void

The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored
and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a
quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this
quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns
void.

Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.

media: v4l2-mediabus: Use structures to describe bus configuration

The media bus configuration is specified through a set of flags, some of
which being mutually exclusive. This doesn't scale to express more
complex configurations. Improve the API by replacing the single flags
field in v4l2_mbus_config by a union of v4l2_mbus_config_* structures.
The flags themselves are still used in those structures, so they are
kept here. Drivers are however updated to use structure fields instead
of flags when already possible.

media: v4l2-subdev: add subdev-wide state struct

We have 'struct v4l2_subdev_pad_config' which contains configuration for
a single pad used for the TRY functionality, and an array of those
structs is passed to various v4l2_subdev_pad_ops.

I was working on subdev internal routing between pads, and realized that
there's no way to add TRY functionality for routes, which is not pad
specific configuration. Adding a separate struct for try-route config
wouldn't work either, as e.g. set-fmt needs to know the try-route
configuration to propagate the settings.

This patch adds a new struct, 'struct v4l2_subdev_state' (which at the
moment only contains the v4l2_subdev_pad_config array) and the new
struct is used in most of the places where v4l2_subdev_pad_config was
used. All v4l2_subdev_pad_ops functions taking v4l2_subdev_pad_config
are changed to instead take v4l2_subdev_state.

The changes to drivers/media/v4l2-core/v4l2-subdev.c and
include/media/v4l2-subdev.h were written by hand, and all the driver
changes were done with the semantic patch below. The spatch needs to be
applied to a select list of directories. I used the following shell
commands to apply the spatch:

media: v4l2-async: Improve v4l2_async_notifier_add_*_subdev() API

The functions that add an async subdev to an async subdev notifier take
as an argument the size of the container structure they need to
allocate. This is error prone, as passing an invalid size will not be
caught by the compiler. Wrap those functions in macros that take a
container type instead of a size, and cast the returned pointer to the
desired type. The compiler will catch mistakes if the incorrect type is
passed to the macro, as the assignment types won't match.

media: v4l2-async: Clean v4l2_async_notifier_add_fwnode_remote_subdev

Change v4l2_async_notifier_add_fwnode_remote_subdev semantics
so it allocates the struct v4l2_async_subdev pointer.

This makes the API consistent: the v4l2-async subdevice addition
functions have now a unified usage model. This model is simpler,
as it makes v4l2-async responsible for the allocation and release
of the subdevice descriptor, and no longer something the driver
has to worry about.

On the user side, the change makes the API simpler for the drivers
to use and less error-prone.

Currently, the CSI2 subdevice is using the data-lanes from the
neareast endpoint to config the CSI2 lanes.

While this may work, the proper way to configure the hardware is
to obtain the remote subdevice in v4l2_async_notifier_operations.bound(),
and then call get_mbus_config using the remote subdevice to get
the active lanes.

Instead of using the convenience functions
v4l2_async_notifier_parse_fwnode_endpoints*() or
v4l2_async_register_fwnode_subdev(), parse the input endpoints
and set up the async sub-devices without using callbacks. The drivers
know which ports it must parse and how to handle unconnected remotes,
so it makes the code simpler to transfer control of endpoint parsing
to the driver.

media: imx: Move pads init to probe

If a subdevice is unregistered and then registered again without the
driver being removed and re-probed (which will happen when the media
device is removed and re-probed without also removing/re-probing the
subdevice), media_device_register_entity() is called with a non-zero
entity->num_pads, and then the subdevice's .registered callback calls
media_entity_pads_init(). Thus the subdevice's pad objects are added
to the media device pad list twice, causing list corruption.

One way to fix this would be to create media_entity_pads_destroy(),
and call it in the subdevice's .unregistered callback. But calling
media_entity_pads_init() in the .registered callbacks was done for
legacy reasons and is no longer necessary, so move the call to
media_entity_pads_init() into the subdevice's probe functions. This
fixes the duplicate pad obejcts in the media device pad list.

media: imx: mipi csi-2: Don't fail if initial state times-out

Not all sensors will be able to guarantee a proper initial state.
This may be either because the driver is not properly written,
or (probably unlikely) because the hardware won't support it.

While the right solution in the former case is to fix the sensor
driver, the real world not always allows right solutions, due to lack
of available documentation and support on these sensors.

Let's relax this requirement, and allow the driver to support stream start,
even if the sensor initial sequence wasn't the expected.

Also improve the warning message to better explain the problem and provide
a hint that the sensor driver needs to be fixed.

[media] media: imx: Add MIPI CSI-2 Receiver subdev driver

Adds MIPI CSI-2 Receiver subdev driver. This subdev is required
for sensors with a MIPI CSI2 interface.

- Switch from the v4l2_of_ APIs to the v4l2_fwnode_ APIs.
- Add the function csi2ipu_gasket_init() to initialize the gasket at
s_power(ON). The gasket needs to be programmed with the correct color
component ordering to handle UYVY vs. YUYV ordered mbus formats from
sensors. Note that the description of the CSI2IPU_GASKET register in
the i.MX6 reference manual is wrong w.r.t bit 2 (the manual refers to
this register as CSI2_SW_RST): setting bit 2 selects YUYV order, not UYVY.
