wifi: rtw89: fw: add definition of H2C command and C2H event for MRC series For Wi-Fi 7 chips, FW supports MRC (multi-role concurrent) functions including H2C commands and C2H events. We can consider FW MRC functions as a superset of FW MCC (multi-channel concurrent) functions. And, MRC functions can take MLO things into account. Basically before MLO, SW can also manipulate FW MRC to work original SW MCC flow. So, we add them first and implement the handling in the following. And then, SW MCC will call different series of FW functions according to chip later. wifi: rtw89: fix HW scan timeout due to TSF sync issue When STA connects to an AP and doesn't receive any beacon yet, the hardware scan is triggered. This scan begins with the default TSF value. Once STA receives a beacon when switches back to the operating channel, its TSF synchronizes with the AP. However, if there is a significant difference in TSF values between the default value and the synchronized value, it will cause firmware fail to trigger interrupt, and the C2H won't be sent out. As a result, the scan continues until a timeout occurs. To fix this issue, we disable TSF synchronization during scanning to prevent drastic TSF changes, and enable TSF synchronization after scan. wifi: rtw89: ser: L1 add pre-M0 and post-M0 states Newer FW re-design SER (syetem error recovery) L1 (level 1) flow. New L1 flow will expect two extra states before original L1 flow. * Before: fw --- M1 --> driver fw <-- M2 --- driver fw --- M3 --> driver fw <-- M4 --- driver fw --- M5 --> driver * After: fw --- pre-M0 --> driver fw <-- post-M0 --- driver fw --- M1 --> driver fw <-- M2 --- driver fw --- M3 --> driver fw <-- M4 --- driver fw --- M5 --> driver Then before M1, FW gets one more interval to deal with things that FW should have handled well. To consider backward/forward compatibility, FW and driver won't change flow from M1 to M5. (only except that halt trigger control will change a little bit.) So, there will be two differnt starting points of SER L1. * old FW: SER L1 starts from M1 * new FW: SER L1 starts from pre-M0 Then, driver adds the new SER L1 entry and also keep the original one instead of changing it. wifi: rtw89: deal with RXI300 error RXI300 is a HW design to maintain stuffs across BUS, e.g. AXI, AHB, APB. It will feedback an error when host does an invalid BUS operation. For example, * BUS master request without power/clock on. * host reads/writes/accesses an invalid address. They might lead to problems such as BUS timeout, platform hang, etc. So, once if RXI300 feedback an error, it notifies that driver need a L2 SER (system error recovery) to reset things. Previously, driver did not parse the error scenario for RXI300. We add it and assign a corresponding error code which will make SER flow do L2 reset. A debug function is added to trigger control error in purpose for SER L1 simulation/verification. And, debugfs fw_crash is extended to accept different parameters. echo 1 > fw_crash: simulate CPU exception as before (keep 1 for compatibility with previous) It will be catched and handled by SER L2. (this requires HW/FW restart) echo 2 > fw_crash: simulate control error It will be catched and handled by SER L1. (driver and FW cooperate to recover this) Besides, in order to apply to the above two cases, rename RTW89_FLAG_RESTART_TRIGGER to RTW89_FLAG_CRASH_SIMULATING and adjust where SER flow clears this bit for both L1 and L2. rtw89: extract modules by chipset We are planning to support more chipsets, e.g. 8852C. Before that, we consider architecutre to handle multiple kinds of chipsets. Obviosuly, based on original design, rtw89_core module will have large size even if there is only one chipset under running. It is because all chipset related things are put in rtw89_core now. To reduce such overhead, we extract modules of rtw89 and adjust dependencies between modules. The following assumes that 8852AE, 8852AU, and 8852CE are all supported, we describe the difference before and after extraction. [Before extraction] ------------- |------------------------------------ | rtw89_usb | V ------------- --------------------------------------- ------------- | rtw89_core (including 8852A, 8852C) | <--- | rtw89_pci | --------------------------------------- ------------- The data of 8852A and 8852C are built in rtw89_core. And rtw89_pci is the entry of 8852AE and 8852CE. And rtw89_usb is the entry of 8852AU. [After extraction] ------------- ---------------- |----------- | rtw89_usb | <-------- | rtw89_8852au | | ------------- ---------------- V --------------- | -------------- | | <--------------- | rtw89_core | <--- | rtw89_8852a | -------------- | | <--------------- ^ ^ --------------- | | | ------------- ---------------- | | | | <-------- | rtw89_8852ae | | |----------- | rtw89_pci | ---------------- | | | <----------------- | ------------- | | --------------- ---------------- |--------------- | rtw89_8852c | <------ | rtw89_8852ce | --------------- ---------------- The data of 8852A/8852C is extracted to rtw89_8852a/rtw89_8852c. And rtw89_pci/rtw89_usb handles only common flow of pci/usb bus. Finally, 8852AE, 8852AU, and 8852CE have individual entry modules, i.e. rtw89_8852ae, rtw89_8852au, and rtw89_8852ce correspondingly. rtw89: add Realtek 802.11ax driver This driver named rtw89, which is the next generation of rtw88, supports Realtek 8852AE 802.11ax 2x2 chip whose new features are OFDMA, DBCC, Spatial reuse, TWT and BSS coloring; now some of them aren't implemented though. The chip architecture is entirely different from the chips supported by rtw88 like RTL8822CE 802.11ac chip. First of all, register address ranges are totally redefined, so it's impossible to reuse register definition. To communicate with firmware, new H2C/C2H format is proposed. In order to have better utilization, TX DMA flow is changed to two stages DMA. To provide rich RX status information, additional RX PPDU packets are added. Since there are so many differences mentioned above, we decide to propose a new driver.
