net: ethernet: ibm: Convert to platform remove callback returning void

The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart
from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks.
To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return
void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to
.remove_new() which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers
are converted, .remove_new() is renamed to .remove().

Trivially convert these drivers from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.

net: Explicitly include correct DT includes

The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

dev_ioctl: split out ndo_eth_ioctl

Most users of ndo_do_ioctl are ethernet drivers that implement
the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware
timestamping with SIOCSHWTSTAMP/SIOCGHWTSTAMP.

Separate these from the few drivers that use ndo_do_ioctl to
implement SIOCBOND, SIOCBR and SIOCWANDEV commands.

This is a purely cosmetic change intended to help readers find
their way through the implementation.

net: of_get_phy_mode: Change API to solve int/unit warnings

Before this change of_get_phy_mode() returned an enum,
phy_interface_t. On error, -ENODEV etc, is returned. If the result of
the function is stored in a variable of type phy_interface_t, and the
compiler has decided to represent this as an unsigned int, comparision
with -ENODEV etc, is a signed vs unsigned comparision.

Fix this problem by changing the API. Make the function return an
error, or 0 on success, and pass a pointer, of type phy_interface_t,
where the phy mode should be stored.

net: ethernet: Convert phydev advertize and supported from u32 to link mode

There are a few MAC/PHYs combinations which now support > 1Gbps. These
may need to make use of link modes with bits > 31. Thus their
supported PHY features or advertised features cannot be implemented
using the current bitmap in a u32. Convert to using a linkmode bitmap,
which can support all the currently devices link modes, and is future
proof as more modes are added.

net: emac: fix fixed-link setup for the RTL8363SB switch

On the Netgear WNDAP620, the emac ethernet isn't receiving nor
xmitting any frames from/to the RTL8363SB (identifies itself
as a RTL8367RB).

This is caused by the emac hardware not knowing the forced link
parameters for speed, duplex, pause, etc.

This begs the question, how this was working on the original
driver code, when it was necessary to set the phy_address and
phy_map to 0xffffffff. But I guess without access to the old
PPC405/440/460 hardware, it's not possible to know.

In the quest to remove all stack VLA usage from the kernel[1], this
removes the VLA used for the emac xaht registers size. Since the size
of registers can only ever be 4 or 8, as detected in emac_init_config(),
the max can be hardcoded and a runtime test added for robustness.

the respective equivalent PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_* enum.
And finally, it purges the old macros for good.

net: ibm: emac: Fix some error handling path in 'emac_probe()'

If 'irq_of_parse_and_map()' or 'of_address_to_resource()' fail, 'err' is
known to be 0 at this point.
So return -ENODEV instead in the first case and use 'of_iomap()' instead of
the equivalent 'of_address_to_resource()/ioremap()' combinaison in the 2nd
case.

Doing so, the 'rsrc_regs' field of the 'emac_instance struct' becomes
redundant and is removed.

While at it, turn a 'err != 0' test into an equivalent 'err' to be more
consistent.

emac_mdio_read_link() was not copying the requested phy settings
back into the emac driver's own phy api. This has caused a link
speed mismatch issue for the AR8035 as the emac driver kept
trying to connect with 10/100MBps on a 1GBit/s link.

This patch also unifies shared code between emac_setup_aneg()
and emac_mdio_setup_forced(). And furthermore it removes
a chunk of emac_mdio_init_phy(), that was copying the same
data into itself.

This patch fixes a problem where the AR8035 PHY can't be
detected on an Cisco Meraki MR24, if the ethernet cable is
not connected on boot.

Russell Senior provided steps to reproduce the issue:
|Disconnect ethernet cable, apply power, wait until device has booted,
|plug in ethernet, check for interfaces, no eth0 is listed.
|
|This appears to be a problem during probing of the AR8035 Phy chip.
|When ethernet has no link, the phy detection fails, and eth0 is not
|created. Plugging ethernet later has no effect, because there is no
|interface as far as the kernel is concerned. The relevant part of

Based on the comment and the commit message of
commit 23fbb5a87c56 ("emac: Fix EMAC soft reset on 460EX/GT").
This is because the AR8035 PHY doesn't provide the TX Clock,
if the ethernet cable is not attached. This causes the reset
to timeout and the PHY detection code in emac_init_phy() is
unable to detect the AR8035 PHY. As a result, the emac driver
bails out early and the user left with no ethernet.

In order to stay compatible with existing configurations, the driver
tries the current reset approach at first. Only if the first attempt
timed out, it does perform one more retry with the clock temporarily
switched to the internal source for just the duration of the reset.

net: ibm: emac: remove unused sysrq handler for 'c' key

Since commit d6580a9f1523 ("kexec: sysrq: simplify sysrq-c handler"),
the sysrq handler for the 'c' key has been sysrq_crash_op. Debugging
code in the ibm_emac driver also tries to register a handler for the 'c'
key, but this has no effect because register_sysrq_key() doesn't replace
existing handlers. Since evidently no one has cared enough to fix this
in the last 8 years, and it's very rare for drivers to register sysrq
handlers (for good reason), just remove the dead code.

The problem is caused by emac_dt_phy_probe() returing success (0)
for existing device-trees configurations that do not specify a
"phy-handle" property. This caused the code to skip the existing
phy probe and setup. Which led to essential phy related
data-structures being uninitialized.

This patch also removes the unused variable in emac_dt_phy_connect().

net: emac: add support for device-tree based PHY discovery and setup

This patch adds glue-code that allows the EMAC driver to interface
with the existing dt-supported PHYs in drivers/net/phy.

Because currently, the emac driver maintains a small library of
supported phys for in a private phy.c file located in the drivers
directory.

The support is limited to mostly single ethernet transceiver like the:
CIS8201, BCM5248, ET1011C, Marvell 88E1111 and 88E1112, AR8035.

However, routers like the Netgear WNDR4700 and Cisco Meraki MX60(W)
have a 5-port switch (AR8327N) attached to the EMAC. The switch chip
is supported by the qca8k mdio driver, which uses the generic phy
library. Another reason is that PHYLIB also supports the BCM54610,
which was used for the Western Digital My Book Live.

This will now also make EMAC select PHYLIB.

net: deprecate eth_change_mtu, remove usage

With centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done by
eth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it as
deprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have been
audited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which means
they all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtu
prints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit of
out-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it.

Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while using
eth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, you
couldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also set
to 4096 to remedy that.

powerpc: Remove duplicate cacheable_memcpy/memzero functions

These functions are only used from one place each. If the cacheable_*
versions really are more efficient, then those changes should be
migrated into the common code instead.

NOTE: The old routines are just flat buggy on kernels that support
hardware with different cacheline sizes.

emac: Fix EMAC soft reset on 460EX/GT

Fix EMAC soft reset on 460EX/GT to select the right PHY clock source
before and after the soft reset.

EMAC with PHY should use the clock from PHY during soft reset.
EMAC without PHY should use the internal clock during soft reset.

PPC460EX/GT Embedded Processor Advanced User's Manual
section 28.10.1 Mode Register 0 (EMACx_MR0) states:
Note: The PHY must provide a TX Clk in order to perform a soft reset
of the EMAC. If none is present, select the internal clock
(SDR0_ETH_CFG[EMACx_PHY_CLK] = 1).
After a soft reset, select the external clock.

Without the fix, 460EX/GT-based boards with RGMII PHYs attached to
EMACs experience EMAC interrupt storm and system watchdog reset when
issuing "ifconfig eth0 down" + "ifconfig eth0 up" a few times.
The system enters endless loop of serving emac_irq() with EMACx_ISR
register stuck at value 0x10000000 (Rx parity error).

With the fix, the above issue is no longer observed.

drivers/net: fix up function prototypes after __dev* removals

The __dev* removal patches for the network drivers ended up messing up
the function prototypes for a bunch of drivers. This patch fixes all of
them back up to be properly aligned.

Bonus is that this almost removes 100 lines of code, always a nice
surprise.

net: fix IBM EMAC driver after rename.

In commit 9aa3283595451ca093500ff0977b106e1f465586 (ehea/ibm*: Move the
IBM drivers) the IBM_NEW_EMAC* were renames to IBM_EMAC*

The conversion was incomplete so that even if the driver was added to
the .config it wasn't built, but there were no errors). In this commit
we also update the various defconfigs that use EMAC to use the new
Kconfig symbol, and explicitly add the NET_VENDOR_IBM guard.

We do not explicitly select the Kconfig dependencies, as this would force
EMAC on. Doing it in the defconfig allows more flexibility.

Tested on a canyondlands board.
