drm/gem: rename struct drm_gem_dma_object.{paddr => dma_addr} The field paddr of struct drm_gem_dma_object holds a DMA address, which might actually be a physical address. However, depending on the platform, it can also be a bus address or a virtual address managed by an IOMMU. Hence, rename the field to dma_addr, which is more applicable. In order to do this renaming the following coccinelle script was used: ``` @@ struct drm_gem_dma_object *gem; @@ - gem->paddr + gem->dma_addr @@ struct drm_gem_dma_object gem; @@ - gem.paddr + gem.dma_addr @exists@ typedef dma_addr_t; symbol paddr; @@ dma_addr_t paddr; <... - paddr + dma_addr ...> @@ symbol paddr; @@ dma_addr_t - paddr + dma_addr ; ``` This patch is compile-time tested with: ``` make ARCH={x86_64,arm,arm64} allyesconfig make ARCH={x86_64,arm,arm64} drivers/gpu/drm` ``` Acked-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Suggested-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Reviewed-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Signed-off-by: Danilo Krummrich <dakr@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20220802000405.949236-5-dakr@redhat.com

drm/gem: rename GEM CMA helpers to GEM DMA helpers Rename "GEM CMA" helpers to "GEM DMA" helpers - considering the hierarchy of APIs (mm/cma -> dma -> gem dma) calling them "GEM DMA" seems to be more applicable. Besides that, commit e57924d4ae80 ("drm/doc: Task to rename CMA helpers") requests to rename the CMA helpers and implies that people seem to be confused about the naming. drm/meson: overlay: setup overlay for Amlogic FBC Setup the Amlogic FBC decoder for the VD1 video overlay plane. The VD1 Amlogic FBC decoder is integrated in the pipeline like the YUV pixel reading/formatter but used a direct memory address instead. This adds support for the basic layout, and needs to calculate the content body size since the header is allocated after. drm/fourcc: Pass the format_info pointer to drm_format_plane_width/height So far, the drm_format_plane_height/width functions were operating on the format's fourcc and was doing a lookup to retrieve the drm_format_info structure and return the cpp. However, this is inefficient since in most cases, we will have the drm_format_info pointer already available so we shouldn't have to perform a new lookup. Some drm_fourcc functions also already operate on the drm_format_info pointer for that reason, so the API is quite inconsistent there. Let's follow the latter pattern and remove the extra lookup while being a bit more consistent. In order to be extra consistent, also rename that function to drm_format_info_plane_cpp and to a static function in the header to match the current policy. The parameters order have also be changed to match the other functions prototype. drm: Remove users of drm_format_num_planes drm_format_num_planes() is basically a lookup in the drm_format_info table plus an access to the num_planes field of the appropriate entry. Most drivers are using this function while having access to the entry already, which means that we will perform an unnecessary lookup. Removing the call to drm_format_num_planes is therefore more efficient. Some drivers will not have access to that entry in the function, but in this case the overhead is minimal (we just have to call drm_format_info() to perform the lookup) and we can even avoid multiple, inefficient lookups in some places that need multiple fields from the drm_format_info structure. drm/meson: Support Overlay plane for video rendering The Amlogic Meson GX SoCs support an Overlay plane behind the primary plane for video rendering. This Overlay plane support various YUV layouts : - YUYV - NV12 / NV21 - YUV444 / 422 / 420 / 411 / 410 The scaler supports a wide range of scaling ratios, but for simplicity, plane atomic check limits the scaling from x5 to /5 in vertical and horizontal scaling. The z-order is fixed and always behind the primary plane and cannot be changed. The scaling parameter algorithm was taken from the Amlogic vendor kernel code and rewritten to match the atomic universal plane requirements. The video rendering using this overlay plane support has been tested using the new Kodi DRM-KMS Prime rendering path along the in-review V4L2 Mem2Mem Hardware Video Decoder up to 3840x2160 NV12 frames on various display modes.
