cpuidle: drivers: firmware: psci: Dont instrument suspend code The PSCI suspend code is currently instrumentable, which is not safe as instrumentation (e.g. ftrace) may try to make use of RCU during idle periods when RCU is not watching. To fix this we need to ensure that psci_suspend_finisher() and anything it calls are not instrumented. We can do this fairly simply by marking psci_suspend_finisher() and the psci*_cpu_suspend() functions as noinstr, and the underlying helper functions as __always_inline. When CONFIG_DEBUG_VIRTUAL=y, __pa_symbol() can expand to an out-of-line instrumented function, so we must use __pa_symbol_nodebug() within psci_suspend_finisher(). The raw SMCCC invocation functions are written in assembly, and are not subject to compiler instrumentation. firmware/psci: Don't register with debugfs if PSCI isn't available Contrary to popular belief, PSCI is not a universal property of an ARM/arm64 system. There is a garden variety of systems out there that don't (or even cannot) implement it. I'm the first one deplore such a situation, but hey... On such systems, a "cat /sys/kernel/debug/psci" results in fireworks, as no invocation callback is registered. Check for the invoke_psci_fn and psci_ops.get_version pointers before registering with the debugfs subsystem, avoiding the issue altogether. PSCI: Use cpuidle context helpers in psci_cpu_suspend_enter() The PSCI CPU suspend code isn't aware of the PMR vs DAIF game, resulting in a system that locks up if entering CPU suspend with GICv3 pNMI enabled. To save the day, teach the suspend code about our new cpuidle context helpers, which will do everything that's required just like the usual WFI cpuidle code. This fixes my Altra system, which would otherwise lock-up at boot time when booted with irqchip.gicv3_pseudo_nmi=1. arm/arm64: Probe for the presence of KVM hypervisor Although the SMCCC specification provides some limited functionality for describing the presence of hypervisor and firmware services, this is generally applicable only to functions designated as "Arm Architecture Service Functions" and no portable discovery mechanism is provided for standard hypervisor services, despite having a designated range of function identifiers reserved by the specification. In an attempt to avoid the need for additional firmware changes every time a new function is added, introduce a UID to identify the service provider as being compatible with KVM. Once this has been established, additional services can be discovered via a feature bitmap. psci: use function_nocfi for cpu_resume With CONFIG_CFI_CLANG, the compiler replaces function pointers with jump table addresses, which results in __pa_symbol returning the physical address of the jump table entry. As the jump table contains an immediate jump to an EL1 virtual address, this typically won't work as intended. Use function_nocfi to get the actual address of cpu_resume. Export also a new function, psci_set_osi_mode(), that allows its caller to enable the OS-initiated CPU-suspend mode in the PSCI FW. To deal with backwards compatibility for a kernel started through a kexec call, default to set the CPU-suspend mode to the Platform Coordinated mode during boot. arm/arm64: smccc/psci: add arm_smccc_1_1_get_conduit() SMCCC callers are currently amassing a collection of enums for the SMCCC conduit, and are having to dig into the PSCI driver's internals in order to figure out what to do. Let's clean this up, with common SMCCC_CONDUIT_* definitions, and an arm_smccc_1_1_get_conduit() helper that abstracts the PSCI driver's internal state. We can kill off the PSCI_CONDUIT_* definitions once we've migrated users over to the new interface. PSCI: cpuidle: Refactor CPU suspend power_state parameter handling Current PSCI code handles idle state entry through the psci_cpu_suspend_enter() API, that takes an idle state index as a parameter and convert the index into a previously initialized power_state parameter before calling the PSCI.CPU_SUSPEND() with it. This is unwieldly, since it forces the PSCI firmware layer to keep track of power_state parameter for every idle state so that the index->power_state conversion can be made in the PSCI firmware layer instead of the CPUidle driver implementations. Move the power_state handling out of drivers/firmware/psci into the respective ACPI/DT PSCI CPUidle backends and convert the psci_cpu_suspend_enter() API to get the power_state parameter as input, which makes it closer to its firmware interface PSCI.CPU_SUSPEND() API. A notable side effect is that the PSCI ACPI/DT CPUidle backends now can directly handle (and if needed update) power_state parameters before handing them over to the PSCI firmware interface to trigger PSCI.CPU_SUSPEND() calls. firmware/psci: add support for SYSTEM_RESET2 PSCI v1.1 introduced SYSTEM_RESET2 to allow both architectural resets where the semantics are described by the PSCI specification itself as well as vendor-specific resets. Currently only system warm reset semantics is defined as part of architectural resets by the specification. This patch implements support for SYSTEM_RESET2 by making using of reboot_mode passed by the reboot infrastructure in the kernel. drivers: firmware: psci: Announce support for OS initiated suspend mode PSCI firmware v1.0+, supports two different modes for CPU_SUSPEND. The Platform Coordinated mode, which is the default and mandatory mode, while support for the OS initiated (OSI) mode is optional. In some cases it's interesting for the user/developer to know if the OSI mode is supported by the PSCI FW, so print a message to the log if that is the case.
