proc: convert everything to "struct proc_ops" The most notable change is DEFINE_SHOW_ATTRIBUTE macro split in seq_file.h. Conversion rule is: llseek => proc_lseek unlocked_ioctl => proc_ioctl xxx => proc_xxx delete ".owner = THIS_MODULE" line [akpm@linux-foundation.org: fix drivers/isdn/capi/kcapi_proc.c] [sfr@canb.auug.org.au: fix kernel/sched/psi.c] Link: http://lkml.kernel.org/r/20200122180545.36222f50@canb.auug.org.au Link: http://lkml.kernel.org/r/20191225172546.GB13378@avx2 Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

Replace <asm/uaccess.h> with <linux/uaccess.h> globally This was entirely automated, using the script by Al: PATT='^[[:blank:]]*#[[:blank:]]*include[[:blank:]]*<asm/uaccess.h>' sed -i -e "s!$PATT!#include <linux/uaccess.h>!" \ $(git grep -l "$PATT"|grep -v ^include/linux/uaccess.h) to do the replacement at the end of the merge window. uml: check length in exitcode_proc_write() We don't cap the size of buffer from the user so we could write past the end of the array here. Only root can write to this file. uml: convert to seq_file/proc_fops Convert code away from ->read_proc/->write_proc interfaces. Switch to proc_create()/proc_create_data() which make addition of proc entries reliable wrt NULL ->proc_fops, NULL ->data and so on. Problem with ->read_proc et al is described here commit 786d7e1612f0b0adb6046f19b906609e4fe8b1ba "Fix rmmod/read/write races in /proc entries" Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Cc: Jeff Dike <jdike@addtoit.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

proc: remove proc_root from drivers Remove proc_root export. Creation and removal works well if parent PDE is supplied as NULL -- it worked always that way. So, one useless export removed and consistency added, some drivers created PDEs with &proc_root as parent but removed them as NULL and so on. [PATCH] uml: locking documentation Some locking documentation and a cleanup. uml_exitcode is copied into a local before sprintf sees it, in case sprintf does anything non-atomic with it. Linux-2.6.12-rc2 Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
