cpumask: centralize cpu_online_map and cpu_possible_map

Impact: cleanup

Each SMP arch defines these themselves. Move them to a central
location.

Twists:
1) Some archs (m32, parisc, s390) set possible_map to all 1, so we add a
CONFIG_INIT_ALL_POSSIBLE for this rather than break them.

2) mips and sparc32 '#define cpu_possible_map phys_cpu_present_map'.
Those archs simply have phys_cpu_present_map replaced everywhere.

3) Alpha defined cpu_possible_map to cpu_present_map; this is tricky
so I just manipulate them both in sync.

4) IA64, cris and m32r have gratuitous 'extern cpumask_t cpu_possible_map'
declarations.

sparc: Kill SBUS DVMA layer.

This thing was completely pointless.

Just find the OF device in the parent of drivers that want to program
this device, and map the DMA regs inside such drivers too.

This also moves the dummy claim_dma_lock() and release_dma_lock()
implementation to floppy_32.h, which makes it handle this issue
just like floppy_64.h does.

Generic semaphore implementation

Semaphores are no longer performance-critical, so a generic C
implementation is better for maintainability, debuggability and

aout: suppress A.OUT library support if !CONFIG_ARCH_SUPPORTS_AOUT

Suppress A.OUT library support if CONFIG_ARCH_SUPPORTS_AOUT is not set.

Not all architectures support the A.OUT binfmt, so the ELF binfmt should not
be permitted to go looking for A.OUT libraries to load in such a case. Not
only that, but under such conditions A.OUT core dumps are not produced either.

To make this work, this patch also does the following:

(1) Makes the existence of the contents of linux/a.out.h contingent on
CONFIG_ARCH_SUPPORTS_AOUT.

(2) Renames dump_thread() to aout_dump_thread() as it's only called by A.OUT
core dumping code.

(3) Moves aout_dump_thread() into asm/a.out-core.h and makes it inline. This
is then included only where needed. This means that this bit of arch
code will be stored in the appropriate A.OUT binfmt module rather than
the core kernel.

(4) Drops A.OUT support for Blackfin (according to Mike Frysinger it's not
needed) and FRV.

This patch depends on the previous patch to move STACK_TOP[_MAX] out of
asm/a.out.h and into asm/processor.h as they're required whether or not A.OUT
format is available.

[SPARC]: Re-export saved_command_line to modules.

This reverts some bogosity from the dynamic command-line
changes made on sparc32 and sparc64.

Drivers such as drivers/sbus/char/openprom.c reference
saved_command_line, and can be modular.

The boot_command_line is __initdata, yet the dynamic command-line
changes add modular exports of that symbol, obviously wrong.

[PATCH] sparc32 rwlock fix

read_trylock() is broken on sparc32 (doesn't build and didn't work
right, actually). Proposed fix:

- make "writer holds lock" distinguishable from "reader tries to grab
lock"

- have __raw_read_trylock() try to acquire the mutex (in LSB of lock),
terminating spin if we see that there's writer holding it. Then do
the rest as we do in read_lock().

[SPARC]: Kill __irq_itoa().

This ugly hack was long overdue to die.

It was a way to print out Sparc interrupts in a more freindly format,
since IRQ numbers were arbitrary opaque 32-bit integers which vectored
into PIL levels. These 32-bit integers were not necessarily in the
0-->NR_IRQS range, but the PILs they vectored to were.

The idea now is that we will increase NR_IRQS a little bit and use a
virtual<-->real IRQ number mapping scheme similar to PowerPC.

That makes this IRQ printing hack irrelevant, and furthermore only a
handful of drivers actually used __irq_itoa() making it even less
useful.

[PATCH] No arch-specific strpbrk implementations

While cleaning up parisc_ksyms.c earlier, I noticed that strpbrk wasn't
being exported from lib/string.c. Investigating further, I noticed a
changeset that removed its export and added it to _ksyms.c on a few more
architectures. The justification was that "other arches do it."

I think this is wrong, since no architecture currently defines
__HAVE_ARCH_STRPBRK, there's no reason for any of them to be exporting it
themselves. Therefore, consolidate the export to lib/string.c.

- IRQ_INPROGRESS flag - use sparc64 irq buckets, or generic irq_desc?

- re-indent large chunks of sun4m_smp.c
- some places assume sequential cpu numbering (i.e. 0,1 instead of 0,2)

Last I checked (with 2.6.14), random programs segfault with dual
HyperSPARC. And with SuperSPARC II's, it seems stable but will
eventually die from a write lock error (wrong lock owner or something).

I haven't tried the HyperSPARC + highmem combination recently, so that
may still be a problem.

[PATCH] spinlock consolidation

This patch (written by me and also containing many suggestions of Arjan van
de Ven) does a major cleanup of the spinlock code. It does the following
things:

- consolidates and enhances the spinlock/rwlock debugging code

- simplifies the asm/spinlock.h files

- encapsulates the raw spinlock type and moves generic spinlock
features (such as ->break_lock) into the generic code.

- cleans up the spinlock code hierarchy to get rid of the spaghetti.

Most notably there's now only a single variant of the debugging code,
located in lib/spinlock_debug.c. (previously we had one SMP debugging
variant per architecture, plus a separate generic one for UP builds)

Also, i've enhanced the rwlock debugging facility, it will now track
write-owners. There is new spinlock-owner/CPU-tracking on SMP builds too.
All locks have lockup detection now, which will work for both soft and hard
spin/rwlock lockups.

The arch-level include files now only contain the minimally necessary
subset of the spinlock code - all the rest that can be generalized now
lives in the generic headers:

crosscompilers. m32r, mips, sh, sparc, have not been tested yet, but should
be mostly fine.

Booted and lightly tested on a500-44 (64-bit, SMP kernel, dual CPU).
Builds 32-bit SMP kernel (not booted or tested). I did not try to build
non-SMP kernels. That should be trivial to fix up later if necessary.

I converted bit ops atomic_hash lock to raw_spinlock_t. Doing so avoids
some ugly nesting of linux/*.h and asm/*.h files. Those particular locks
are well tested and contained entirely inside arch specific code. I do NOT
expect any new issues to arise with them.

If someone does ever need to use debug/metrics with them, then they will
need to unravel this hairball between spinlocks, atomic ops, and bit ops
that exist only because parisc has exactly one atomic instruction: LDCW
(load and clear word).

[SPARC]: Fix weak aliases

sparc_ksyms.c used to declare weak alias to several gcc intrinsics. It
doesn't work with gcc4 anymore - it wants a declaration for the thing
we are aliasing to and that's not going to happen for something like
.mul, etc. Replaced with direct injection of weak alias on the assembler
level - .weak <alias> followed by <alias> = <aliased>; that works on all
gcc versions.

The sparc32 ksyms is missing a few more symbols, these are primarily
related to SMP, and will be needed as SMP gets beaten back into
functionality.

Specifically, add __cpu_data (PER_CPU), cpu_online_map, and
phys_cpu_present_map.

This patch assumes that the earlier "linux-2.6.11-sparc-fixksyms.patch"
is applied, otherwise, it will apply with fuzz.

Linux-2.6.12-rc2

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
