powerpc/pseries: Only register vio drivers if vio bus exists The vio bus is a fake bus, which we use on pseries LPARs (guests) to discover devices provided by the hypervisor. There's no need or sense in creating the vio bus on bare metal systems. Which is why commit 4336b9337824 ("powerpc/pseries: Make vio and ibmebus initcalls pseries specific") made the initialisation of the vio bus only happen in LPARs. However as a result of that commit we now see errors at boot on bare metal systems: Driver 'hvc_console' was unable to register with bus_type 'vio' because the bus was not initialized. Driver 'tpm_ibmvtpm' was unable to register with bus_type 'vio' because the bus was not initialized. This happens because those drivers are built-in, and are calling vio_register_driver(). It in turn calls driver_register() with a reference to vio_bus_type, but we haven't registered vio_bus_type with the driver core. Fix it by also guarding vio_register_driver() with a check to see if we are on pseries. vio: make remove callback return void The driver core ignores the return value of struct bus_type::remove() because there is only little that can be done. To simplify the quest to make this function return void, let struct vio_driver::remove() return void, too. All users already unconditionally return 0, this commit makes it obvious that returning an error code is a bad idea. Note there are two nominally different implementations for a vio bus: one in arch/sparc/kernel/vio.c and the other in arch/powerpc/platforms/pseries/vio.c. This patch only adapts the powerpc one. Before this patch for a device that was bound to a driver without a remove callback vio_cmo_bus_remove(viodev) wasn't called. As the device core still considers the device unbound after vio_bus_remove() returns calling this unconditionally is the consistent behaviour which is implemented here. powerpc/powernv/ioda2: Create bigger default window with 64k IOMMU pages At the moment we create a small window only for 32bit devices, the window maps 0..2GB of the PCI space only. For other devices we either use a sketchy bypass or hardware bypass but the former can only work if the amount of RAM is no bigger than the device's DMA mask and the latter requires devices to support at least 59bit DMA. This extends the default DMA window to the maximum size possible to allow a wider DMA mask than just 32bit. The default window size is now limited by the the iommu_table::it_map allocation bitmap which is a contiguous array, 1 bit per an IOMMU page. This increases the default IOMMU page size from hard coded 4K to the system page size to allow wider DMA masks. This increases the level number to not exceed the max order allocation limit per TCE level. By the same time, this keeps minimal levels number as 2 in order to save memory. As the extended window now overlaps the 32bit MMIO region, this adds an area reservation to iommu_init_table(). After this change the default window size is 0x80000000000==1<<43 so devices limited to DMA mask smaller than the amount of system RAM can still use more than just 2GB of memory for DMA. This is an optimization and not a bug fix for DMA API usage. With the on-demand allocation of indirect TCE table levels enabled and 2 levels, the first TCE level size is just 1<<ceil((log2(0x7ffffffffff+1)-16)/2)=16384 TCEs or 2 system pages. powerpc/dma: use the generic direct mapping bypass Now that we've switched all the powerpc nommu and swiotlb methods to use the generic dma_direct_* calls we can remove these ops vectors entirely and rely on the common direct mapping bypass that avoids indirect function calls entirely. powerpc/dma: untangle vio_dma_mapping_ops from dma_iommu_ops vio_dma_mapping_ops currently does a lot of indirect calls through dma_iommu_ops, which not only make the code harder to follow but are also expensive in the post-spectre world. powerpc/pseries/vio: Dispose of virq mapping on vdevice unregister When a vdevice is DLPAR removed from the system the vio subsystem doesn't bother unmapping the virq from the irq_domain. As a result we have a virq mapped to a hardware irq that is no longer valid for the irq_domain. A side effect is that we are left with /proc/irq/<irq#> affinity entries, and attempts to modify the smp_affinity of the irq will fail. In the following observed example the kernel log is spammed by ics_rtas_set_affinity errors after the removal of a VSCSI adapter. This is a result of irqbalance trying to adjust the affinity every 10 seconds. rpadlpar_io: slot U8408.E8E.10A7ACV-V5-C25 removed ics_rtas_set_affinity: ibm,set-xive irq=655385 returns -3 ics_rtas_set_affinity: ibm,set-xive irq=655385 returns -3 This patch fixes the issue by calling irq_dispose_mapping() on the virq of the viodev on unregister. powerpc/vio: Use device_type to detect family Currently in the vio.c code we use a comparision against the parent device node's full path to decide if the device is a PFO or VIO family device. Both the ibm,platform-facilities and vdevice nodes are defined by PAPR, and must have a matching device_type. So instead of using the path we can instead compare the device_type. I've checked Qemu and kvmtool both do this correctly, and all the PowerVM systems I have access to do also. So it seems to be safe. This removes the dependency on full_name, which is being removed upstream. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>

powerpc/vfio_spapr_tce: Add reference counting to iommu_table So far iommu_table obejcts were only used in virtual mode and had a single owner. We are going to change this by implementing in-kernel acceleration of DMA mapping requests. The proposed acceleration will handle requests in real mode and KVM will keep references to tables. This adds a kref to iommu_table and defines new helpers to update it. This replaces iommu_free_table() with iommu_tce_table_put() and makes iommu_free_table() static. iommu_tce_table_get() is not used in this patch but it will be in the following patch. Since this touches prototypes, this also removes @node_name parameter as it has never been really useful on powernv and carrying it for the pseries platform code to iommu_free_table() seems to be quite useless as well. This should cause no behavioral change.
