ARM: omap2: Explicitly include correct DT includes The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it was merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. ARM: OMAP2+: Fix regression for using local timer on non-SMP SoCs On am437x we use also an ARM timer in addition to the dmtimer. As am437x is not an SMP SoC, we need tick_broadcast() implemented. With the recent dmtimer changes, Arnd started to see link failures for non-SMP am437x configuration: kernel/time/tick-broadcast.o: in function `tick_device_uses_broadcast': tick-broadcast.c:(.text+0x130): undefined reference to `tick_broadcast' Let's fix the issue by reverting dmtimer related changes that started building timer.c only for CONFIG_SOC_HAS_REALTIME_COUNTER. We still always need timer.c built-in for omap5 and dra7 for timer_probe(). And let's also move am437x tick_broadcast() to board-generic.c as that's where we now call timer_probe() for am437x. This way we avoid adding back more ifdefs to timer.c. Unfortunately, the SyncTimer32K is starving from frequency deviation as mentioned in commit 5b5c01359152 ("ARM: OMAP2+: AM43x: Use gptimer as clocksource") and, as reported by Franklin [1], even its monotonic nature is under question (most probably there is a HW issue, but it's still under investigation). ARM: omap2: make arrays containing machine compatible strings const The definition static const char *omap3_boards_compat[] __initconst = { defines a changable array of constant strings. That is you must not do: *omap3_boards_compat[0] = 'f'; but omap3_boards_compat[0] = "another string"; is fine. So the annotation __initconst is wrong and yields a compiler error when other really const variables are added with __initconst. As the struct machine_desc member dt_compat is declared as const char *const *dt_compat; making the arrays const is the better alternative over changing all annotations to __initdata. ARM: OMAP2+: DT 'compatible' tweak for displays As there is no common panel framework in the kernel, we have OMAP specific panel drivers. However, the DT data should be generic. This brings the issue that some other platform could use the same panels, and would need to create a driver with the same 'compatible' string as the OMAP driver. In the long run, we have to get a common panel framework. For the time being, this patch solves the issue: At early boot time, we go through the DT nodes looking for the panels the kernel supports for OMAP. For each found node, the 'compatible' string is prepended with "omapdss,", i.e. "sony,acx565akm" becomes "omapdss,sony,acx565akm". The OMAP display drivers all have "omapdss," at the beginning of their compatible field. This allows us to have generic DT data, but OMAP specific display drivers. ARM: OMAP3: Add generic machine descriptor for boards with OMAP3 GP devices OMAP3 devices may or may not have security features enabled. Security enabled devices are known as high-secure (HS) and devices without security are known as general purpose (GP). Some OMAP3 boards, such as the OMAP3 beagle board, only use GP devices and for GP devices there is a 12th timer available on-chip that can operate at 32kHz. The clock for 12th timer is generated by an internal oscillator and is unique this timer. Boards such as the beagle board use this timer as a 32kHz based clock-events timer because early versions of the board had a hardware problem preventing them from using other on-chip timers clocked by a external 32kHz clock. When booting with device-tree all OMAP3 devices use timer 1 by default for the clock-events timer. Therefore, add a generic machine descriptor for boards with OMAP3 GP devices so that they can use the 12th timer as the clock-events timer instead of the default. ARM: OMAP: Split plat/hardware.h, use local soc.h for omap2+ As the plat and mach includes need to disappear for single zImage work, we need to remove plat/hardware.h. Do this by splitting plat/hardware.h into omap1 and omap2+ specific files. The old plat/hardware.h already has omap1 only defines, so it gets moved to mach/hardware.h for omap1. For omap2+, we use the local soc.h that for now just includes the related SoC headers to keep this patch more readable. Note that the local soc.h still includes plat/cpu.h that can be dealt with in later patches. Let's also include plat/serial.h from common.h for all the board-*.c files. This allows making the include files local later on without patching these files again. Note that only minimal changes are done in this patch for the drivers/watchdog/omap_wdt.c driver to keep things compiling. Further patches are needed to eventually remove cpu_is_omap usage in the drivers. Also only minimal changes are done to sound/soc/omap/* to remove the unneeded includes and to define OMAP44XX_MCPDM_L3_BASE locally so there's no need to include omap44xx.h. ARM: OMAP2+: am33xx: Add AM335XEVM machine support This patch adds minimal support for AM335X machine init. During last merge window, two separate patches supporting am33xx machine init had been submitted, 1. Link to earlier Baseport patch submission (Legacy): http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-omap@vger.kernel.org/msg59325.html 2. Link to earlier DT based machine init support patch submission: http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-omap@vger.kernel.org/msg61398.html And both had got accepted at that time, but got missed during merge window. But now, since we have taken decision to make am33xx as a separate class and not to follow omap3 family, these patches needs to changes accordingly (only changes), - Combine both the patches, since early init and timer init used in board-generic.c file requires them. - Remove dependency on AM3517EVM, and only use DT approach for machine init. - Change the config option (as changed recently) CONFIG_SOC_OMAPAM33XX --> CONFIG_SOC_AM33XX Signed-off-by: Vaibhav Hiremath <hvaibhav@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Vaibhav Hiremath <hvaibhav@ti.com> Cc: Benoit Cousson <b-cousson@ti.com> Cc: Paul Walmsley <paul@pwsan.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

irq_domain: Remove irq_domain_add_simple() irq_domain_add_simple() was a stop-gap measure until complete irq_domain support was complete. This patch removes the irq_domain_add_simple() interface. This patch also drops the explicit irq_domain initialization performed by the mach-versatile code because the versatile interrupt controller already has irq_domain support built into it. This was a bug that was hanging around quietly for a while, but with the full irq_domain which actually verifies that irq_domain ranges are available it would cause the registration to fail and the system wouldn't boot. v4: Fixed number of irqs in mx5 gpio code v2: Updated to pass in host_data pointer on irq_domain allocation. omap: Set separate timer init functions to avoid cpu_is_omap tests This is needed for the following patches so we can initialize the rest of the hardware timers later on. As with the init_irq calls, there's no need to do cpu_is_omap calls during the timer init as we only care about the major omap generation. This means that we can initialize the sys_timer with the .timer entries alone. Note that for now we just set stubs for the various sys_timer entries that will get populated in a later patch. The following patches will also remove the omap_dm_timer_init calls and change the init for the rest of the hardware timers to happen with an arch_initcall. OMAP2+: io: split omap2_init_common_hw() Split omap2_init_common_hw() into two functions. The first, omap2_init_common_infrastructure(), initializes the hwmod code and data, the OMAP PM code, and the clock code and data. The second, omap2_init_common_devices(), handles any other early device initialization that, for whatever reason, has not been or cannot be moved to initcalls or early platform devices. This patch is required for the hwmod postsetup patch, which allows board files to change the state that hwmods should be placed into at the conclusion of the hwmod _setup() function. For example, for a board whose creators wish to ensure watchdog coverage across the entire kernel boot process, code to change the watchdog's postsetup state will be added in the board-*.c file between the omap2_init_common_infrastructure() and omap2_init_common_devices() function calls. OMAP2/3 board-*.c files: read bootloader configuration earlier Most board-*.c files read configuration data from the bootloader in their .init_machine() function. This needs to happen earlier, at some point before omap2_init_common_hw() is called. This is because a future patch will use the bootloader serial console port information to enable the UART clocks earlier, immediately after omap2_clk_init(). This is in turn necessary since otherwise clock tree usecounts on clocks like dpll4_m2x2_ck will be bogus, which can cause the currently-active console UART clock to be disabled during boot. [ARM] OMAP2 SDRC: add SDRAM timing parameter infrastructure For a given SDRAM clock rate, SDRAM chips require memory controllers to use a specific set of timing minimums and maximums to transfer data reliably. These parameters can be different for different memory chips and can also potentially vary by board. This patch adds the infrastructure for board-*.c files to pass this timing data to the SDRAM controller init function. The timing data is specified in an 'omap_sdrc_params' structure, in terms of SDRC controller register values. An array of these structs, one per SDRC target clock rate, is passed by the board-*.c file to omap2_init_common_hw(). This patch does not define the values for different memory chips, nor does it use the values for anything; those will come in subsequent patches. linux-omap source commit is bc84ecfc795c2d1c5cda8da4127cf972f488a696. omap mmc: Remove broken MMC init code Most of the omap1 MMC boards got broken by an earlier patch 138ab9f8321f67c71984ca43222efa71b0a0a0a9. If you look closely, the MMC init funtions are pretty much just stubs. Remove broken init code to make room for cleaner MMC init code. [ARM] Remove asm/hardware.h, use asm/arch/hardware.h instead Remove includes of asm/hardware.h in addition to asm/arch/hardware.h. Then, since asm/hardware.h only exists to include asm/arch/hardware.h, update everything to directly include asm/arch/hardware.h and remove asm/hardware.h. ARM: OMAP: Add calls to omap2_set_globals_*() Add the omap2_set_globals_{242x,243x,343x}() functions. These functions are called early upon boot in the map_io() functions in the board-specific init files. This patch was accidentally left out of the earlier series. This fixes omap2 booting as noted by Kyungmin Park <kmpark@infradead.org>. [ARM] 3145/1: OMAP 3a/5: Add support for omap24xx Patch from Tony Lindgren This patch adds support for omap24xx series of processors. The files live in arch/arm/mach-omap2, and share common files with omap15xx and omap16xx processors in arch/arm/plat-omap. Omap24xx support was originally added for 2.6.9 by TI. This code was then improved and integrated to share common code with omap15xx and omap16xx processors by various omap developers, such as Paul Mundt, Juha Yrjola, Imre Deak, Tony Lindgren, Richard Woodruff, Nishant Menon, Komal Shah et al.
