treewide: drop CONFIG_EMBEDDED

There is only one Kconfig user of CONFIG_EMBEDDED and it can be switched
to EXPERT or "if !ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM" (suggested by Arnd).

arc: update config files

Clean up config files by:
- removing configs that were deleted in the past
- removing configs not in tree and without recently pending patches
- adding new configs that are replacements for old configs in the file

For some detailed information, see Link.

# a6036a41 28-Jun-2022 Nick Desaulniers <ndesaulniers@google.com>

kbuild: drop support for CONFIG_CC_OPTIMIZE_FOR_PERFORMANCE_O3

The difference in most compilers between `-O3` and `-O2` is mostly down
to whether loops with statically determinable trip counts are fully
unrolled vs unrolled to a multiple of SIMD width.

This patch is effectively a revert of
commit 15f5db60a137 ("kbuild,arc: add
CONFIG_CC_OPTIMIZE_FOR_PERFORMANCE_O3 for ARC") without re-adding
ARCH_CFLAGS

Ever since
commit cfdbc2e16e65 ("ARC: Build system: Makefiles, Kconfig, Linker
script")
ARC has been built with -O3, though the reason for doing so was not
specified in inline comments or the commit message. This commit does not
re-add -O3 to arch/arc/Makefile.

Folks looking to experiment with `-O3` (or any compiler flag for that
matter) may pass them along to the command line invocation of make:

$ make KCFLAGS=-O3

Code that looks to re-add an explicit Kconfig option for `-O3` should
provide:
1. A rigorous and reproducible performance profile of a reasonable
userspace workload that demonstrates a hot loop in the kernel that
would benefit from `-O3` over `-O2`.
2. Disassembly of said loop body before and after.
3. Provides stats on terms of increase in file size.

# 15f5db60 20-Aug-2019 Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>

kbuild,arc: add CONFIG_CC_OPTIMIZE_FOR_PERFORMANCE_O3 for ARC

arch/arc/Makefile overrides -O2 with -O3. This is the only user of
ARCH_CFLAGS. There is no user of ARCH_CPPFLAGS or ARCH_AFLAGS.
My plan is to remove ARCH_{CPP,A,C}FLAGS after refactoring the ARC
Makefile.

Currently, ARC has no way to enable -Wmaybe-uninitialized because both
-O3 and -Os disable it. Enabling it will be useful for compile-testing.
This commit allows allmodconfig (, which defaults to -O2) to enable it.

Add CONFIG_CC_OPTIMIZE_FOR_PERFORMANCE_O3=y to all the defconfig files
in arch/arc/configs/ in order to keep the current config settings.

configs: get rid of obsolete CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED

This Kconfig option was removed during v4.19 development in commit
771c035372a0 ("deprecate the '__deprecated' attribute warnings entirely
and for good") so there's no point to keep it in defconfigs any longer.

FWIW defconfigs were patched with:
--------------------------->8----------------------
find . -name *_defconfig -exec sed -i '/CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED/d' {} \;
--------------------------->8----------------------

ARC: enable uboot support unconditionally

After reworking U-boot args handling code and adding paranoid
arguments check we can eliminate CONFIG_ARC_UBOOT_SUPPORT and
enable uboot support unconditionally.

For JTAG case we can assume that core registers will come up
reset value of 0 or in worst case we rely on user passing
'-on=clear_regs' to Metaware debugger.

arc: [devboards] Add support of NFSv3 ACL

By default NFSv3 doesn't support ACL (Access Control Lists)
which might be quite convenient to have so that
mounted NFS behaves exactly as any other local file-system.

In particular missing support of ACL makes umask useless.
This among other thigs fixes Glibc's "nptl/tst-umask1".

arc: vdk: Disable halt on reset

In recent VDKs ARC cores are configured as "run on reset"
which made existing kernel configuration outdated to effect that
slave cores never start execution of the code keeping only master
online.

With that fix we're again in sync with VDK platform.

And while at it we regenerate defconfig via savedefconfig so default
options are now excluded.

ARC: timer: gfrc, rtc: build under same option (64-bit timers)

The original distinction was done as they were developed at different
times and primarily because they are specific to UP (RTC) and SMP (GFRC).

But given that driver handles that at runtime, (i.e. not allowing
RTC as clocksource in SMP), we can simplify things a bit.

ARC: [*defconfig] No need to specify CONFIG_CROSS_COMPILE

So remove these from defconfig and let user pass this via CROSS_COMPILE
environment var or use the default for ENDIAN (per previous patch)

No other arch carries them in defconfigs anyways !

ARC: switch to arc-linux- CROSS_COMPILE prefix across all configs

When building kernel with buildroot built toolchain, CROSS_COMPILE
currently needs adjustment even if minor. This is because the defconfigs
prefer "arc-linux-uclibc-" prefix from hand built (non buildroot) toolchain
while buildroot provides "arc-buildroot-linux-uclibc-"

To avoid this use the common "arc-linux-" prefix which is provided by
buildroot and has also been in hand built tools for quite some time.
