SMTP: Use B{Secure}Socket for communication.

# c86d4971 30-Jun-2017 Augustin Cavalier <waddlesplash@gmail.com>

SMTP: Remove STARTTLS support.

* It's vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks (which can't really be fixed)
* It's rather nasty to implement (and prevents us from using BSecureSocket)
* Nearly all servers I know of which support STARTTLS also support plain
TLS also.

# fa587d29 26-Nov-2012 Axel Dörfler <axeld@pinc-software.de>

The protocol config view now adds some glue at the bottom.

* This makes all boxes fill the complete height of the window.
* The SMTP add-on did that itself which makes no sense.

# 57b30555 22-Nov-2012 Axel Dörfler <axeld@pinc-software.de>

MailProtocolConfigView now is a BMailSettingsView.

* Changed the private settings base classes to follow the new style.
* Made BodyDownloadConfig use the layout API.
* Adapted SMTP to these changes.

# 715bf3d1 26-Oct-2012 Axel Dörfler <axeld@pinc-software.de>

Work in progress of mail rework.

* Not everything compiles; all protocols, and inbound filters do, though.
* Renamed a few classes to give a better idea what they are for; prefixed
public classes with the 'B' prefix.
* Moved ProtocolConfigView's classes into the BPrivate namespace.
* Moved BMailFilter into its own file.
* Added BMailFilter::DescriptiveName(). This is now used by the RuleFilter
in order to give a description of what it's doing (ie. no more dozens of
"Rule filter" entries in the preferences).
* Removed no longer used MailAddon.h.
* Renamed Addon to AddOn where found, since that is more consistent with the
rest of the API.
* Merged the former MailProtocol with the former MailProtocolThread; the
differentiation between those two was pretty messy.
* All configuration views touched so far are now using the layout kit.
* The RuleFilter is currently broken functionality wise; I have not yet decided
how to solve the stuff it uses (TriggerFileMove() does not exist anymore,
for example).
* BMailAddOnSettings (formerly known as AddonSettings) now directly subclass
BMessage; there are no Settings() and EditSettings() method anymore. The
class uses a copy of itself to determine whether or not it has been changed.
* Lots of cleanup.

# 028ad031 27-May-2012 Adrien Destugues - PulkoMandy <pulkomandy@pulkomandy.tk>

Fix collecting of ifdef dependant strings

Following some recent changes, the collection of strings does not use
B_COLLECTING_CATKEYS define anymore. Adjust the code to use
B_TRANSLATE_MARK_VOID instead, leading to the same result (string is
added to catalog, but not used)

# 546208a5 16-Apr-2012 Oliver Tappe <zooey@hirschkaefer.de>

More catalog-related cleanup.

* rename B_TRANSLATE_CONTEXT to B_TRANSLATION_CONTEXT and
B_TRANSLATE_WITH_CONTEXT to B_TRANSLATE_CONTEXT, squashing a TODO
* adjust all uses of both macros in Haiku's source tree
* use correct header guard for collecting/Catalog.h

The renamed macros require adjustments to all external applications
using catalogs.

# 3b7d1b05 29-Oct-2011 Adrien Destugues <pulkomandy@pulkomandy.ath.cx>

Use the proper define to make the string visible only to collectcatkeys.
Makes gcc4 happy.
Sorry for the inconvenience, build fixed.

Apply a nice patch from Taos, just some smaller fixes by myself.
Localize the mail add-ons.
The Japanese translation is attached to #7689. Please give a notice when it is in the translation system and the ticket can be closed.
Does the B_UTF8_ELLIPSIS comes into the B_TRANSLATE macro?

# 21c22141 19-Jun-2011 Axel Dörfler <axeld@pinc-software.de>

* Removed default_sent_directory(), and introduced
default_mail{_in|_out}_directory() methods in the BPrivate namespace.
* Used these methods in the inbound/outbound protocols.
* Moved WriteMessageFile() into the BPrivate namespace as well, and put its
prototype into a new header MailPrivate.h along with the new directory
getters.
* Removed the automatic copy to the sent directory again, and only have one
directory for incoming mail. Incidentally, this fixed #7509, although the
underlying filter restriction remains.
* Automatic whitespace cleanups, some style cleanups. Sorry for the mess.

# d26fee1a 08-Feb-2011 Clemens Zeidler <clemens.zeidler@googlemail.com>

Switch to the new MailProtocol and account API. Lot of other smaller adaption to the new mail server.

Remove button in the pref app removes the complete account because we don't have separate chains any more. The pref app stays a mess, needs some layout love! (I did it even look worse...)

The new account/mail settings classes know if they have been changed but the current pref panel does not use this feature very well. It always mark the settings as modified when the settings view is displayed or more precise when the settings view is detached from the pref window, this could be optimized. The according mail protocol is completely restarted when their settings changed.

Some system filters are now directly integrated in the mail protocols. Hopefully make things easier to understand.
