# 225736 22-Sep-2011 kensmith

Copy head to stable/9 as part of 9.0-RELEASE release cycle.

Approved by: re (implicit)

# 208986 10-Jun-2010 bz

Make the char *n_name member of struct nlist 'const'.
This avoids errors or __DECONST() from places with higher WARNS levels.

Adjust a local cache variable in ipcs to const as well
to compile in the new world order.

Mechanically kill hard sentence breaks and double whitespaces.

# 119964 10-Sep-2003 ru

mdoc(7): Properly mark C headers.

# 119893 08-Sep-2003 ru

mdoc(7): Use the new feature of the .In macro.

# 97485 29-May-2002 ru

mdoc(7) police: don't unnecessarily use macros.

# 94710 15-Apr-2002 trhodes

a.out.5 states that nobody seems to agree on what bss stands for. This is
incorrect, however, as Dennis Ritchie states ``Actually the acronym is "block
started by symbol." It was a pseudo-op in FAP (Fortran Assembly Program), an
assembler for the IBM <models> machines. It identified its label and set
aside space for a given number of words.''

# 84306 01-Oct-2001 ru

mdoc(7) police: Use the new .In macro for #include statements.

# 81251 07-Aug-2001 ru

mdoc(7) police:

Avoid using parenthesis enclosure macros (.Pq and .Po/.Pc) with plain text.
Not only this slows down the mdoc(7) processing significantly, but it also
has an undesired (in this case) effect of disabling hyphenation within the
entire enclosed block.

# 71895 01-Feb-2001 ru

mdoc(7) police: split punctuation characters + misc fixes.

# 57731 03-Mar-2000 sheldonh

Remove single-space hard sentence breaks. These degrade the quality
of the typeset output, tend to make diffs harder to read and provide
bad examples for new-comers to mdoc.

# 56201 17-Jan-2000 asmodai

Pull a.out.5 into the future. New binary file formats already exist
and are not compatible. Also, add a crossreference to elf(5).

# 50476 27-Aug-1999 peter

$Id$ -> $FreeBSD$

# 22986 22-Feb-1997 peter

Revert $FreeBSD$ back to $Id$

# 21673 14-Jan-1997 jkh

Make the long-awaited change from $Id$ to $FreeBSD$

This will make a number of things easier in the future, as well as (finally!)
avoiding the Id-smashing problem which has plagued developers for so long.

Boy, I'm glad we're not using sup anymore. This update would have been
insane otherwise.

# 20914 26-Dec-1996 wosch

Sort cross references.

# 14004 09-Feb-1996 mpp

Another round of various man page cleanups.

# 13744 30-Jan-1996 mpp

Fix a bunch of spelling errors in a bunch of man pages.

# 5210 23-Dec-1994 nate

Added link.5 man page and updated a.out.5 manpage to reflect the new
code.
