Prune svn:mergeinfo from the new branch, and rename it to RC1.

Update __FreeBSD_version.

Use the quarterly branch for the default FreeBSD.conf pkg(8) repo and
the dvd1.iso packages population.

Don't depend on <sys/stat.h> bogusly including <sys/time.h> (and thereby
<time.h>).

Zap register keyword usage and convert: bcopy -> memmove, bzero -> memset,

Merge conflicts and make this compile -Wall clean.

This will make a number of things easier in the future, as well as (finally!)
