Add -K (__FreeBSD_version of kernel) and -U (__FreeBSD_version of userland). Things like Makefile.inc1 resort to parsing /usr/include/osreldate.h with awk because this isn't easily available by other means. The separation of user and kernel versions is important for jail/chroot environments.

Remove the advertising clause from UCB copyrighted files in usr.bin. This is in accordance with the information provided at ftp://ftp.cs.berkeley.edu/pub/4bsd/README.Impt.License.Change
Also add $FreeBSD$ to a few files to keep svn happy.

Allow -o as a synonym for -s, for compatibility with other systems.
Using -s is preferred, but some existing scripts and makefiles expect to get the system name from uname -o.

Make kernel identification (`ident' in the config(8) driver) available to userland, and the kernel. In the kernel by way of the 'ident[]' variable akin to all the other stuff generated by newvers.sh. In userland it is available to sysctl consumers via KERN_IDENT or 'kern.ident'. It is exported by uname(1) by the -i flag.

Note that this appeared at least as early as PWB UNIX.
Use the literal string 'PWB UNIX', as we still have no .At macro for it.

Note early appearence of some commands. These actually appeared in PWB, but it seems we don't have a macro for that yet, so list them in the first UNIX release since then that we have a .At for: v7.

Add $Id$, to make it simpler for members of the translation teams to track.
The $Id$ line is normally at the bottom of the main comment block in the man page, separated from the rest of the manpage by an empty comment, like so;
.\" $Id$ .\"
If the immediately preceding comment is a @(#) format ID marker than the the $Id$ will line up underneath it with no intervening blank lines. Otherwise, an additional blank line is inserted.
