Functions m_getm2() and m_get2() have different order of arguments,
and that can drive someone crazy. While m_get2() is young and not
documented yet, change its order of arguments to match m_getm2().

Mechanically substitute flags from historic mbuf allocator with
malloc(9) flags within sys.

Exceptions:

- sys/contrib not touched
- sys/mbuf.h edited manually

Fix the experimental NFS client so that it does not bogusly
set the f_flags field of "struct statfs". This had the interesting
effect of making the NFSv4 mounts "disappear" after r221014,
since NFSMNT_NFSV4 and MNT_IGNORE became the same bit.
Move the files used for a diskless NFS root from sys/nfsclient
to sys/nfs in preparation for them to be used by both NFS
clients. Also, move the declaration of the three global data
structures from sys/nfsclient/nfs_vfsops.c to sys/nfs/nfs_diskless.c
so that they are defined when either client uses them.

VNET socket push back:
try to minimize the number of places where we have to switch vnets
and narrow down the time we stay switched. Add assertions to the
socket code to catch possibly unset vnets as seen in r204147.

While this reduces the number of vnet recursion in some places like
NFS, POSIX local sockets and some netgraph, .. recursions are
impossible to fix.

The current expectations are documented at the beginning of
uipc_socket.c along with the other information there.

Remove the unmaintained University of Michigan NFSv4 client from 8.x
prior to 8.0-RELEASE. Rick Macklem's new and more feature-rich NFSv234
client and server are replacing it.

Replaced the misleading uses of a historical artefact M_TRYWAIT with M_WAIT.
Removed dead code that assumed that M_TRYWAIT can return NULL; it's not true
since the advent of MBUMA.

There are ongoing disputes as to whether we want to switch to directly using
UMA flags M_WAITOK/M_NOWAIT for mbuf(9) allocation.

Remove the now-unused NET_{LOCK,UNLOCK,ASSERT}_GIANT() macros, which
previously conditionally acquired Giant based on debug.mpsafenet. As that
has now been removed, they are no longer required. Removing them
significantly simplifies error-handling in the socket layer, eliminated
quite a bit of unwinding of locking in error cases.

While here clean up the now unneeded opt_net.h, which previously was used
for the NET_WITH_GIANT kernel option. Clean up some related gotos for
consistency.

Remove M_TRYWAIT/M_WAITOK/M_WAIT. Callers should use 0.
Merge M_NOWAIT/M_DONTWAIT into a single flag M_NOWAIT.

Simple p_ucred -> td_ucred changes to start using the per-thread ucred
reference.

o Add missing #include's of sys/proc.h, missed in merge, required to
dereference td->td_proc->p_ucred.

o Make the credential used by socreate() an explicit argument to
socreate(), rather than getting it implicitly from the thread
argument.

o Make NFS cache the credential provided at mount-time, and use
the cached credential (nfsmount->nm_cred) when making calls to
socreate() on initially connecting, or reconnecting the socket.

This fixes bugs involving NFS over TCP and ipfw uid/gid rules, as well
as bugs involving NFS and mandatory access control implementations.

* Rename M_WAIT mbuf subsystem flag to M_TRYWAIT.
This is because calls with M_WAIT (now M_TRYWAIT) may not wait
forever when nothing is available for allocation, and may end up
returning NULL. Hopefully we now communicate more of the right thing
to developers and make it very clear that it's necessary to check whether
calls with M_(TRY)WAIT also resulted in a failed allocation.
M_TRYWAIT basically means "try harder, block if necessary, but don't
necessarily wait forever." The time spent blocking is tunable with
the kern.ipc.mbuf_wait sysctl.
M_WAIT is now deprecated but still defined for the next little while.

* Fix a typo in a comment in mbuf.h

* Fix some code that was actually passing the mbuf subsystem's M_WAIT to
malloc(). Made it pass M_WAITOK instead. If we were ever to redefine the
value of the M_WAIT flag, this could have became a big problem.

Fix warnings in preparation for adding -Wall -Wcast-qual to the
kernel compile.

This commit includes significant work to proper handle const arguments
for the DDB symbol routines.

Yow! Completely change the way socket options are handled, eliminating
another specialized mbuf type in the process. Also clean up some
of the cruft surrounding IPFW, multicast routing, RSVP, and other
ill-explored corners.

Fixed printf format errors.

Moved some #includes from <sys/param.h> nearer to where they are actually
used.

Update workaround for limitations in the arp code.
Adjust the RPC timeout message which occured when the old workaround
broke to show the correct IP address.

Removed unused #includes.

Last major round (Unless Bruce thinks of somthing :-) of malloc changes.

Distribute all but the most fundamental malloc types. This time I also
remembered the trick to making things static: Put "static" in front of
them.

A couple of finer points by: bde

Added used #include - don't depend on <sys/mbuf.h> including
<sys/malloc.h> (unless we only use the bogusly shared M*WAIT flags).

Fix all areas of the system (or at least all those in LINT) to avoid storing
socket addresses in mbufs. (Socket buffers are the one exception.) A number
of kernel APIs needed to get fixed in order to make this happen. Also,
fix three protocol families which kept PCBs in mbufs to not malloc them
instead. Delete some old compatibility cruft while we're at it, and add
some new routines in the in_cksum family.

Remove unused routines.

Bring in some kernel bootp support. This removes the need for netboot
to fill in the nfs_diskless structure, at the cost of some kernel
bloat. The advantage is that this code works on a wider range of
network adapters than netboot. Several new kernel options are
documented in LINT.
