22
txn abort
23

24Description(txn abort)
25
The txn abort command causes an abnormal termination of the
26transaction.

27
The log is played backward, and any necessary recovery operations are
28performed. After recovery is completed, all locks held by the
29transaction are acquired by the parent transaction in the case of a
30nested transaction, or released in the case of a non-nested transaction.
31As is the case for txn commit, applications that require strict
32two-phase locking should not explicitly release any locks.

33
In the case of nested transactions, aborting the parent transaction
34causes all children of that transaction to be aborted.

35
After txn abort has been called, regardless of its return, the
36txn handle may not be accessed again.

37
The txn abort command returns 0 on success, and in the case of error, a Tcl error
38is thrown.
