30

31Description: DB_ENV->set_mp_max_write
32
The DB_ENV->set_mp_max_write method limits the number of sequential write
33operations scheduled by the library when flushing dirty pages from the
34cache.

35
The database environment's maximum number of sequential write operations may also be configured using the
36environment's DB_CONFIG file. The syntax of the entry in that
37file is a single line with the string "set_mp_max_write", one or more whitespace
38characters, and the maximum number of sequential writes and the number of microseconds
39to sleep, also separated by whitespace characters.
40Because the DB_CONFIG file is read when the database environment
41is opened, it will silently overrule configuration done before that
42time.

43
The DB_ENV->set_mp_max_write method configures a database environment, not only operations
44performed using the specified DB_ENV handle.

45
The DB_ENV->set_mp_max_write method
46returns a non-zero error value on failure
47and 0 on success.
48

49Parameters
50 maxwrite

The maximum number of sequential write operations scheduled by the
51library when flushing dirty pages from the cache, or 0 if there is
52no limitation on the number of sequential write operations.

53 maxwrite_sleep

The number of microseconds the thread of control should pause before
54scheduling further write operations. It must be specified as an
55unsigned 32-bit number of microseconds, limiting the maximum pause to
56roughly 71 minutes.

57
58
Errors
59
The DB_ENV->set_mp_max_write method
60may fail and return one of the following non-zero errors:

61
62EINVAL

An
63invalid flag value or parameter was specified.

64
65

66Description: DB_ENV->get_mp_max_write
67
The DB_ENV->get_mp_max_write method returns the current maximum number of
68sequential write operations and microseconds to pause.

69
The DB_ENV->get_mp_max_write method may be called at any time during the life of the
70application.

71
The DB_ENV->get_mp_max_write method
72returns a non-zero error value on failure
73and 0 on success.
74

75Parameters
76 maxwritep

The maxwritep parameter references memory into which
77 the maximum number of sequential write operations is copied.

78 maxwrite_sleepp

The maxwrite_sleepp parameter references memory into which
79 the microseconds to pause before scheduling further write operations is copied.
