platform), it is free software available 230under the <a href="http://www.opensource.org/licenses/mit-license.html">MIT 231License</a>. XML itself is a metalanguage to design markup languages, i.e. 232text language where semantic and structure are added to the content using 233extra "markup" information enclosed between angle brackets. HTML is the most 234well-known markup language.
