H A D | nfs_fs.h | diff 6f52b16c Wed Nov 01 08:08:43 MDT 2017 Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> License cleanup: add SPDX license identifier to uapi header files with no license Many user space API headers are missing licensing information, which makes it hard for compliance tools to determine the correct license. By default are files without license information under the default license of the kernel, which is GPLV2. Marking them GPLV2 would exclude them from being included in non GPLV2 code, which is obviously not intended. The user space API headers fall under the syscall exception which is in the kernels COPYING file: NOTE! This copyright does *not* cover user programs that use kernel services by normal system calls - this is merely considered normal use of the kernel, and does *not* fall under the heading of "derived work". otherwise syscall usage would not be possible. Update the files which contain no license information with an SPDX license identifier. The chosen identifier is 'GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note' which is the officially assigned identifier for the Linux syscall exception. SPDX license identifiers are a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and Philippe Ombredanne. See the previous patch in this series for the methodology of how this patch was researched. The kernel is in charge to filter SA, this avoids to generate useless netlink traffic (it save also some cpu cycles). This is particularly useful when there is a big number of SA set on the system. Note that I removed the union in struct xfrm_state_walk to fix a problem on arm. struct netlink_callback->args is defined as a array of 6 long and the first long is used in xfrm code to flag the cb as initialized. Hence, we must have: sizeof(struct xfrm_state_walk) <= sizeof(long) * 5. With the union, it was false on arm (sizeof(struct xfrm_state_walk) was sizeof(long) * 7), due to the padding. In fact, whatever the arch is, this union seems useless, there will be always padding after it. Removing it will not increase the size of this struct (and reduce it on arm). H A D | fdreg.h | diff e2032464 Sun Mar 01 12:55:54 MST 2020 Willy Tarreau <w@1wt.eu> floppy: separate the FDC's base address from its registers FDC registers FD_STATUS, FD_DATA, FD_DOR, FD_DIR and FD_DCR used to be defined relative to FD_IOPORT, which is the FDC's base address, itself a macro depending on the "fdc" local or global variable. This patch changes this so that the register macros above now only reference the address offset, and that the FDC's address is explicitly passed in each call to fd_inb() and fd_outb(), thus removing the macro. With this change there is no more implicit usage of the local/global "fdc" variable. One place in the ARM code used to check if the port was equal to FD_DOR, this was changed to testing the register by applying a mask to the port, as was already done in the sparc code. There are still occurrences of fd_inb() and fd_outb() in the PARISC code and these ones remain unaffected since they already used to work with a base address and a register offset. The sparc, m68k and parisc code could now be slightly cleaned up to benefit from the macro definitions above instead of the equivalent hard-coded values. Anyway, this means BLKPG deserves some special compat_ioctl handling. Do the conversion in a small shim for MTD. block/compat_ioctl.c already has compat support for the block subsystem, but it does so by a re-marshalling data to/from user-space (see compat_blkpg_ioctl()). Personally, I think this approach is cleaner. Tested only on MTD, with an ARM32 user space on an ARM64 kernel. Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com> |
