H A D | ifclone.c | diff 295836 Sat Feb 20 11:50:37 MST 2016 kp ifconfig(8): can't use 'name' or 'description' when creating interface with auto numbering If one does 'ifconfig tap create name blah', it will return error because the 'name' command doesn't properly populate the request sent to ioctl(...). The 'description' command has the same bug, and is also fixed with this patch. H A D | ef10_rx.c | diff 291747 Fri Dec 04 07:01:10 MST 2015 arybchik sfxge: [EF10] support RxQ scattering control If, for example, a VF is configured to use a 1500 byte MTU, but the port it is attached to is set to 9000 bytes, overlength frames can be received by the VF. As Huntington scatters by default, these overlength packets would be scattered across several descriptors, with all except the last having the CONT bit set. To avoid this, disable scatter when creating RXQs if the firmware supports doing so, which all recent versions do. Then we only get a single descriptor from an overlength frame. This will have the CONT bit set to indicate it was truncated, so we can discard it. Submitted by: Mark Spender <mspender at solarflare.com> Sponsored by: Solarflare Communications, Inc. H A D | if_nge.c | diff 78323 Sat Jun 16 03:38:44 MDT 2001 wpaul Fix the last serious bug I've been chasing: The DP83820/83821 has an undocumented limitation concerning jumbo frames and TX checksum offload. In order for TX checksum offload to work, the outgoing frame must fit entirely within the TX FIFO, which is 8192 bytes in size. This isn't a problem, until you try to send a 9000-byte frame, at which point the TX DMA engine goes to sleep. It turns out that if you want to send a jumbo frame larger than 8170 bytes (8192 - 64), you have to turn off the TX checksum support. As a workaround, I changed nge_ioctl() so that if the user selects an MTU larger than 8152 bytes, we clear the if_hwassist flags. The flags will be set again once the MTU is reduced to a smaller value. |

H A D | t4_sge.c | diff 239266 Wed Aug 15 01:05:05 MDT 2012 np The size of the buffers in an Ethernet freelist has to be higher than the interface's MTU. Initialize such freelists with correct values. This wasn't a problem for common MTUs (1500 and 9000) as the buffers (2048 and 9216 in size) happened to have enough spare room. I ran into it when playing around with unusual MTUs. MFC after: 2 weeks |

Add panic to make null-pointer dereference crash a little more verbose. Add a new sysctl, vm.max_proc_mmap, which specifies the maximum number of mmap()'d spaces (discrete vm_map_entry's in the process). The value defaults to around 9000 for a 128MB machine. The test is scaled for the number of processes sharing a vmspace (aka linux threads). Setting the value to 0 disables the feature. PR: kern/16573 Approved by: jkh |
