The iterator to walk the PCIe path did not account for RCH topology.
However RCH does not support hotplug and the memory exported by the
Restricted CXL Device (RCD) should be covered by HMAT and therefore no
access_coordinate is needed. Add check to see if the endpoint device is
RCD and skip calculation.

Also add a call to cxl_endpoint_get_perf_coordinates() in cxl_test in order
to exercise the topology iterator. The dev_is_pci() check added is to help
with this test and should be harmless for normal operation.

This patch changes the bpf_sk_storage_*() to take
ARG_PTR_TO_BTF_ID_SOCK_COMMON such that they will work with the pointer
returned by the bpf_skc_to_*() helpers also.

A micro benchmark has been done on a "cgroup_skb/egress" bpf program
which does a bpf_sk_storage_get(). It was driven by netperf doing
a 4096 connected UDP_STREAM test with 64bytes packet.
The stats from "kernel.bpf_stats_enabled" shows no meaningful difference.

The sk_storage_get_btf_proto, sk_storage_delete_btf_proto,
btf_sk_storage_get_proto, and btf_sk_storage_delete_proto are
no longer needed, so they are removed.

An ancient gcc bug (first reported in 2003) has apparently resurfaced
on MIPS, where kernelci.org reports an overly large stack frame in the
whirlpool hash algorithm:

crypto/wp512.c:987:1: warning: the frame size of 1112 bytes is larger than 1024 bytes [-Wframe-larger-than=]

With some testing in different configurations, I'm seeing large
variations in stack frames size up to 1500 bytes for what should have
around 300 bytes at most. I also checked the reference implementation,
which is essentially the same code but also comes with some test and
benchmarking infrastructure.

It seems that recent compiler versions on at least arm, arm64 and powerpc
have a partial fix for this problem, but enabling "-fsched-pressure", but
even with that fix they suffer from the issue to a certain degree. Some
testing on arm64 shows that the time needed to hash a given amount of
data is roughly proportional to the stack frame size here, which makes
sense given that the wp512 implementation is doing lots of loads for
table lookups, and the problem with the overly large stack is a result
of doing a lot more loads and stores for spilled registers (as seen from
inspecting the object code).

Disabling -fschedule-insns consistently fixes the problem for wp512,
in my collection of cross-compilers, the results are consistently better
or identical when comparing the stack sizes in this function, though
some architectures (notable x86) have schedule-insns disabled by
default.

I did not do any runtime tests with serpent, so it is possible that stack
frame size does not directly correlate with runtime performance here and
it actually makes things worse, but it's more likely to help here, and
the reduced stack frame size is probably enough reason to apply the patch,
especially given that the crypto code is often used in deep call chains.

I did not do any runtime tests with serpent, so it is possible that stack
frame size does not directly correlate with runtime performance here and
it actually makes things worse, but it's more likely to help here, and
the reduced stack frame size is probably enough reason to apply the patch,
especially given that the crypto code is often used in deep call chains.

An ancient gcc bug (first reported in 2003) has apparently resurfaced
on MIPS, where kernelci.org reports an overly large stack frame in the
whirlpool hash algorithm:

crypto/wp512.c:987:1: warning: the frame size of 1112 bytes is larger than 1024 bytes [-Wframe-larger-than=]

With some testing in different configurations, I'm seeing large
variations in stack frames size up to 1500 bytes for what should have
around 300 bytes at most. I also checked the reference implementation,
which is essentially the same code but also comes with some test and
benchmarking infrastructure.

It seems that recent compiler versions on at least arm, arm64 and powerpc
have a partial fix for this problem, but enabling "-fsched-pressure", but
even with that fix they suffer from the issue to a certain degree. Some
testing on arm64 shows that the time needed to hash a given amount of
data is roughly proportional to the stack frame size here, which makes
sense given that the wp512 implementation is doing lots of loads for
table lookups, and the problem with the overly large stack is a result
of doing a lot more loads and stores for spilled registers (as seen from
inspecting the object code).

Disabling -fschedule-insns consistently fixes the problem for wp512,
in my collection of cross-compilers, the results are consistently better
or identical when comparing the stack sizes in this function, though
some architectures (notable x86) have schedule-insns disabled by
default.

an address of the whole array and not the first member to 'memcpy()'.

Add and use a layout0 test fixture to not populate the tmpfs filesystem

This doesn't change these tests but it speeds up their setup and makes
them less prone to error. This prepare the ground for a next commit.

We don't have an idle zstreams list anymore and our write path now works
absolutely differently, preventing preemption during compression. This
removes possibilities of read paths preempting writes at wrong places
(which could badly affect the performance of both paths) and at the same
time opens the door for a move from custom LZO/LZ4 compression backends
implementation to a more generic one, using crypto compress API.

Joonsoo Kim [1] attempted to do this a while ago, but faced with the
need of introducing a new crypto API interface. The root cause was the
fact that crypto API compression algorithms require a compression stream
structure (in zram terminology) for both compression and decompression
ops, while in reality only several of compression algorithms really need
it. This resulted in a concept of context-less crypto API compression
backends [2]. Both write and read paths, though, would have been
executed with the preemption enabled, which in the worst case could have
resulted in a decreased worst-case performance, e.g. consider the
following case:

but it took me some time to realize that, and it took even longer to
evolve zram and to make it ready for crypto API. The key turned out to be
-- drop the idle streams list entirely. Without the idle streams list we
are free to use compression algorithms that require compression stream for
decompression (read), because streams are now placed in per-cpu data and
each write path has to disable preemption for compression op, almost
completely eliminating the aforementioned case (technically, we still have
a small chance, because write path has a fast and a slow paths and the
slow path is executed with the preemption enabled; but the frequency of
failed fast path is too low).

We don't have an idle zstreams list anymore and our write path now works
absolutely differently, preventing preemption during compression. This
removes possibilities of read paths preempting writes at wrong places
(which could badly affect the performance of both paths) and at the same
time opens the door for a move from custom LZO/LZ4 compression backends
implementation to a more generic one, using crypto compress API.

Joonsoo Kim [1] attempted to do this a while ago, but faced with the
need of introducing a new crypto API interface. The root cause was the
fact that crypto API compression algorithms require a compression stream
structure (in zram terminology) for both compression and decompression
ops, while in reality only several of compression algorithms really need
it. This resulted in a concept of context-less crypto API compression
backends [2]. Both write and read paths, though, would have been
executed with the preemption enabled, which in the worst case could have
resulted in a decreased worst-case performance, e.g. consider the
following case:

but it took me some time to realize that, and it took even longer to
evolve zram and to make it ready for crypto API. The key turned out to be
-- drop the idle streams list entirely. Without the idle streams list we
are free to use compression algorithms that require compression stream for
decompression (read), because streams are now placed in per-cpu data and
each write path has to disable preemption for compression op, almost
completely eliminating the aforementioned case (technically, we still have
a small chance, because write path has a fast and a slow paths and the
slow path is executed with the preemption enabled; but the frequency of
failed fast path is too low).

ended up causing hung machines on UP with no preemption, because the
work routine to flip the buffer data to the ldisc would endlessly re-arm
itself if the destination buffer had filled up.

With the delayed work, that only caused a timer-driving polling of the
tty state every timer tick, but without the delay we just ended up with
basically a busy loop instead.

Stop the insane polling, and instead make the code that opens up the
receive room re-schedule the buffer flip work. That's what we should
have been doing anyway.

This same "poll for tty room" issue is almost certainly also the cause
of excessive kworker activity when idle reported by Dave Jones, who also
reported "flush_to_ldisc executing 2500 times a second" back in Nov 2010:

which is that silly flushing done every timer tick. Wasting both power
and CPU for no good reason.
