H A Dnetdb_private.hdiff 146244 Sun May 15 20:15:15 MDT 2005 ume - The ai_addrlen of a struct addrinfo used to be a size_t, per
RFC 2553. In XNS5.2, and subsequently in POSIX-2001 and RFC
3493, it was changed to a socklen_t. And, the n_net of a
struct netent used to be an unsigned long integer. In XNS5,
and subsequently in POSIX-2001, it was changed to an uint32_t.
To accomodate for this while preserving ABI compatibility with
the old interface, we need to prepend or append 32 bits of
padding, depending on the (LP64) architecture's endianness.
- Correct 1st argument of getnetbyaddr() to uint32_t on 32
bit arch. Stay as is on 64 bit arch for ABI backward
compatibility for now.

H A Daudit_arg.cdiff 164011 Mon Nov 06 00:15:44 MST 2006 csjp Change the type of ar_arg_sockaddr from struct sockaddr to struct
sockaddr_storage. This structure is defined in RFC 2553 and is a more
semantically correct structure for holding IP and IP6 sockaddr information.
struct sockaddr is not big enough to hold all the required information for
IP6, resulting in truncated addresses et al when auditing IP6 sockaddr
information.

We also need to assume that the sa->sa_len has been validated before the call to
audit_arg_sockaddr() is made, otherwise it could result in a buffer overflow.
This is being done to accommodate auditing of network related arguments (like
connect, bind et al) that will be added soon.
